Hate playing LA teams

I hate it because it can be a shitty squad; yet these guys are all going out there with their hair on fire trying to prove a point. A lot of times the point is “why didn’t you recruit me” or “we are the best team in the state”. Meanwhile, LSU seems to always play down to them!
This LA Tech team has talent! Amir would start for LSU...

It’s good for their program, helps out an in state school.. why do you mind this

I don’t like the injury risk potential, for what essentially adds up to a junk bond win for LSU.

The way you guys are hyping him up, it’s the LSU guys playing with something to prove.

Actually my preference would be to do the following every year with the 4 non conference games :
Power 5 home and home (neutral site 2/8 years)
Rotation between Tulane and Tech
Rotation between ULL and ULM
Out of state G5 team
Never an FCS opponent regardless of state. Gives you a solid in state game and a complete rent a win every year. Beats the hell out of playing nobodies from other states

I get you OP.
But I would rather LSU not be a pussy like Arkansas who doesn't play any state teams.....in any sport.....ever.

So is every "good" team when they get a chance to beat #6 in the country.

Not Tech's fault?

So LSU needs to play LSU ball. Nothing to do with scheduling.

You hate keeping money in state? Getting sell-out crowd revenue? Hate meeting other people from inside the state that you'd never otherwise meet because everything north of I-10 is "Yankee land" to you and you've never been north of it? Possibly developing new rivalries? You're a pussy? What is it?

At least its not a 11:00am game at the superdome. Ought to be a good game and good time. We should play the other Louisiana namesake school, not those pretenders.

We didn't recruit you because you suck or made an 11 on the ACT.
Every team in the country thinks they're the best team in their state. We think that as well. Old news.
And Amik** would start over Greedy and Fulton...?
Office must be hella boring this Friday morning for you.

With the exception of small private schools, Arkansas State is one of the only non-UA system schools. UAPB or UALR are not going to play UA. It would be like LSUA or LSUE playing LSU. Not happening.
UA has to be the douchebaggiest place on Earth. It incorporates the Texas jealousy with the quirkiness of their hillbilly hubris to present an overly exaggerated ego that they are far superior to everyone else despite the fact that you pretty much need a helicopter to travel in quasi-directional lines. But it doesn’t stop there. It is the county-by-county pep rallies that mimick one of the gayest schools of all time (ATM) wherein they literally summon mud wallowing farm animals. I suppose when said animal is your mascot, you have to embrace it with a zeal and a quirkiness found nowhere else in the USA. So their fear, overconfident fear of being exposed as the frauds they are are why they don’t play ASU.
I love the fact that LSU plays in state schools. It keeps the money at home. It shows the other schools how to tailgate. LSU exudes an attitude of winning and a culture of fun that other schools only wish they had (I’m talking directly at you La Tech and the Davison family!). So I could not disagree more with LSU not playing in state schools. It shows that we are not fearful of losing to little brother or to you little sister (talking to you ULM), and that at the end of the day, we are one big old screwed up dysfunctional family of Cajuns, rednecks, Nola and Metro Nola, Delta, urban, rural and even Texas wannabees that make up our colorful and vibrant State.

Tigers don't listen to all this bull shite & just win baby!!!

Group of 5. It’s the name that was given to the non power 5 teams. Don’t like it but that’s what they call themselves

I love playing in state schools. So much more intrigue than playing some random MAC or Mountain West school.
So any other schools wouldn't try to win and play their hardest? See Troy as my rebuttal.

Amik is talented, he'd most likely start at the nickel with Fulton back.
I think this will make for an important arrangement in the future since Coach O has gotten with the instate teams for these joint camps. Might help keep out-of-state schools out of the state by giving state schools a payday more often.
LSU vs:
ULL - the Cajuns have scored exactly 6 points against the Tigers since 1938, 25 total points in 22 games.
ULM - have been outscored 131-7 in the three total games.
Tulane - their best games in recent years have been two 25 point losses to the Tigers.
LA Tech - did have an 8 point loss the last time we played, but hasn't really been competitive any other time as of late. Even in 2003 when they had the only running back (Ryan Moats) to gain 100 yards rushing against the Tigers that season, if I recall correctly. (Will only be the fourth time we've played them since WWII ended).
That whole in-state thing isn't as big of a deal as you think it is.

I love it. It gives the local kids who grew up coming to Tiger Stadium a chance to play in front of our fans. Something they'll never forget no matter the score.
