Peyton manning Charles Woodson

Wouldn’t call that a shocker. Manning should have won, but there was such a huge media push all year for Woodson, it was not a shock at all when he won.

This. Peyton was robbed.

Peyton was great, but Woodson was the most outstanding player. He was gigantic in every big game they played and played huge on both sides of the ball (and even on special teams). He had big catches in numerous games, 7 interceptions, and also shut down a side of the field.

In the Ohio State game (obviously the biggest game), he had a 78-yard punt return for a TD, a huge catch, and a huge interception as Ohio State was trying to score. And Michigan hasn't won a national title since Woodson.

His phenomenal NFL career proved that he wasn't a fluke either with 9 pro-bowl seasons. I believe he is tied for the most pick 6s in NFL history too.

Charles Woodson was a good defensive player. But his Heisman campaign was pure media collaboration. He was a creation.

he did nothing to beat Bama that year.

We all know there was nothing he could have done. Saban knew what Miles was going to do, and Fournette had no shot at beating that Alabama team by himself.

LSU's playcalling was among the worst I have ever seen.

Peyton not winning was part media hype “let’s vote for a defensive player for change!” But mostly Woodson played amazing in Michigan’s big rivalry game while those were the days when QBs were punished for not winning the big one and Peyton could not get over the spurrier / Gator hump. JD beating Bama last year was huge.

There was definitely an element of that, but he made huge plays in just about every close game they played. They didn't play many top tier teams, but he carried them in their big games on defense, offense and special teams. When you make games changing plays on offense ,defense and special teams, it gives you an advantage over guys that play on one side of the ball or whatever.

Yes, Fournette should have been invited, but he did nothing to beat Bama that year. 22

How stupid can you get?

How is it Fournette’s fault that Les called toss dive right and toss dive left over and over while Bama stacked the LOS with 9 players while their safeties played 5-7 yards off the line all night long???

No he wasn't. He had no blocking. If he had 31 yards Derrick Henry would have had 21.
