Having a super backfield and a great offensive line, Harris will not be asked to do anything outside of his repertoire. Cameron is the key. He has to make the offense go. He has talent at every play-making position. Harris' upside finally comes to fruition in Fournette's money year. The Tigers are a seasoned bunch, as the NFL didn't rob the roster like it has in year's past, and in a league as salty as the SEC, veteran players are a valuable commodity.

He has to do more than he has been asked to do. Otherwise expect the same results. Cam has to be proactive, not reactive with the passing game. Why the hell else do you recruit the Dupree, Johnsons and Durals of the world?

yes, i agree.

harris, IMO, has all the tools to be more than adequate. our coaches have to put him in better situations than we have in the past. i'm OK with being a run heavy team with #7 & #5 on this roster. we just have to have better play selection and routes.....and all of that has been said before. lets see if it happens.

my fear, we do things differently in some games to give that false hope.......then we play the meat of our schedule and run 87 times up the middle to see if we can will our way to a 1st place finish.

eta: our run defense will be equally important to any success we have this year. we have to be strong on Defense again.

Even if he improves marginally, this team will be hard to beat. His season last year was above average.

offensive line will be the key. Doesn't matter who your QB is if he's constantly under pressure

Pass pro definitely needs to be better way too many breakdowns in big situations last year

The thing is we can win most games with Harris doing little other than making a few throws and handing off to LF and Guice. There will be games that we face teams like Bama, Arky and Ole Miss that their D-line can match our O-line and limit the run game and the game falls on Harris to shoulder the team. All the other games need to be developing Harris for the time when he has to put the game on his back. I'm concerned there will be a lot stat padding with LF to get him the Heisman when we should be developing our passing game. It's also just as important for us to get our pass protection solid because it's been marginal at best the last few years.

Harris will be key to getting LSU's passing offense back on track, but more importantly, Aranda has to fix the defense. In our three losses last year, the defense gave up 30+ in each game.

Oh, and special teams..... what a disaster.

Wasn't this the case the last 2 years but he failed?

In my mind the offense only has to be as good as last year. And that might well be with losing Hawkins and Alexander.....Maybe not.

The defense is the lynch pin to the season. With all the experience (Junior/Senior Laden defensive line) they will be 5-7 points per game better than last season and that will make us at least a ten win team.

a great offensive line
Hyperbole. The line is good but it is not great. The game is won in the trenches so everything else in the OP is somewhat moot. We need bigger, stronger OLines. The line is good enough for most opponents, but at least 2 or 3 opponents usually manhandle our Oline.

Won't matter much unless Harris improves his accuracy.

Well, when you hold the ball for 45 minutes because each receiver is running a 75 yard route there tends to be issues with protection

If you follow BHarris on snapchat you will realize wise is not a real way to describe him...

Not really. It definitely wasn't all of his fault (oline was terrible in pass pro and Cameron should've not been paid last year for that atrocious play calling.)

Was he better than Jennings was the year before? Yes. Other than that, he was average, at best.

Then don't follow him on snapchat...

Passing appears to be outside of his repertoire right now, so unfortunately we do need him to do more.

Why do we almost always have to rely on a QB who is still learning how to pass?

this. People act as if we had 2010 offense and 2010's defense last year. Pre-bama the offense was looking pretty good and had a really good game against a great florida defense. our defense got gashed by Trion Harris.

Les has never been a come from behind head coach. The defense needs to be better.

that is not to say I do not expect Harris to improve. I think he will take a massive step forward this off season. He showed signs that he could be a really good QB last year.

I wish we could just dump it off to our backs more efficiently. These are high percentage passes with tremendous potential when we get these guys out in the open. Alabama runs this to perfection. So simple yet so effective.
