Watching the replay, I wondered if Jay Ward was upset, because he definitely had another school & score if Perkins hadn't gotten to the ball so fast!

I don't see how you can watch/cover the SEC and not select him. There hasn't been a more impactful defender in the league all season. If his stats aren't enough to justify his selection, then all one has to do is look at the one game where he didn't play much....Tennessee. LSU gave up the most points they've given up all season and suffered their worst loss of the year. That's not a coincidence.
Unfortunately, the media that covers the SEC is INCREDIBLY lazy. Will Anderson received all of the preseason hype so they will probably just check the box for him even though (currently) Perkins has more sacks, tackles, forced fumbles, and the same amount of INTs. Plus, in their head to head matchup Perkins was clearly the best defensive player on the field that night. Outside of one sack, Anderson didn't do much.
And save me the BS excuse of "that's because every opponent focuses all of their attention on Anderson." Then WTF are they doing with Perkins? Ignoring him? I doubt if bozos like us can clearly see how impactful he is that coaches aren't picking up on that.
