I think we’ll have the depth to ease him in as well if he needs a little time. Similar to Zy this year.

Perkins made the smart choice. He's skill level is world class, he's an alpha and with another year of Baker teaching, I like HP chances of becoming a beast like his feshman year.

Plus, going through rehab is a rough process and this will make him even tougher mentally.

Just imagine this D after the year we had with weeks and us not scheming our D solely to perk and having him in awkward situations…. Put this dude at the star position and let him feast

This is great news! Now for the love of god, rush the QB. That is all. If it happens to be a run then try to blow it up in the backfield. Backside pursuit. Knock down passes at or behind the line of scrimmage. Let the young man live behind the LOS. That's all. No coverage. No reads. Just get in the backfield by any means necessary.

Move him around. If offenses try to run right at him then move him. Bring him from the A gap. Use him like the Cowboys used to use Micah Parsons. Or even better, use him like you used him that one time that he was All SEC.

If he decides to be coachable this could be huge

So far he hasn’t shown consistent play at all. If he was this phenomenon then there wouldn’t be these cries of coaches “not knowing how to use him” - frick that if he was that good he’d be making plays and not missing wide open field tackles.

If it’s just an acl I think he’ll be fine. Depends on what the extent is. Im nothing close to a doctor but I know the other ligaments in the knee can take longer

Who decides what role Perk will play?
Baker? Perkins? handlers/ agents?
From the outside, his role/ development has been confusing.

According to the downvotes on my post,
Seems like a lot of idiots want the recent Perkins that didn’t contribute much compared to the freshman phenom version of Perkins lol. All I’m sayin is use Perkins like they did his Freshman year where he will excel.

Y’all are a weird bunch sometimes.

To say it got better because perk got injured is stupid ! Probably would have liked to have him spying on some of these running QBs that torched them on the ground!

The defense improved when we started playing Weeks with Penn inside. But what people forget is that we did that just before Perkins was injured. He started the UCLA game playing OLB, and it was probably the best half he played all season before the injury.

As good as Weeks and Key have looked, with West Weeks being a solid backup ILB, and several young prospects there, I doubt they mess with keeping Perkins inside. He can play Star and OLB and be on the field for most snaps.

Another thing to consider- Suntarine Perkins is 6-1 and less than 210. He was 3rd in the SEC in sacks and OM lines him up as a standing rush end on passing 3rd downs. We should do more of this with Perkins than we have the last 2 seasons, especially if none of the DEs pop the way Swinson did this year.
