first kelvin joseph and now Kenan jones. both in the secondary.

this freshman class must be really good - even the guys who haven't been getting much time.

from that perspective it's a good thing, but it sure messes with depth this year.

Apparently it was not playing time related. He is leaving due to personal issues

If this were true, he wouldn't put it out on the internet "my recruitment is officially open."

Don't believe everything you hear.

This makes the most sense to me.

Then why is his recruitment "open"?

Anyone working with students in the 18-22 age range will tell you it is a totally different climate than 10 years ago. Everyone is very sensitive and feels like they are the best and should play immediately. (Everyone get a trophy, star, car, etc)

You are going to see more and more of it with the four game redshirt rule as well.
Some of these players need to realize most teams are not going to have a ton of empty spots on their rosters.

The portal should be frozen during the season. Open it after the season until the end of fall camp. It can decimate depth in a hurry.

This is what the idiots at the NCAA have created. I can understand a kid leaving at the end of the year. If he was not going to get playing time, he should approach his coach and attempt to get redshirted but not just redshirt himself and abandon his team mates.

Look for the question at SEC media days next year about why O didn't give Kenan Jones or Lanard Fournette a national title ring.

Yeah!! How dare these kids do what they want with their life’s!

Kid wasn’t playing or contributing at all. Makes no sense to get upset

Jones has some legitimate family concerns. Leave it at that. He’s not a malcontent and it’s not weed related.

I thought Jones should have stayed at WR. Body style is a Terrance Marshall clone. He could have filled in the next few games with Marshall out and get some valuable playing time. Could have left Sullivan at TE.

I know coaches liked him at safety and were trying to get him on the field sooner so no problem with their decision. Have no idea what issues he is dealing with...
