What was our record with those better high priced transfers?

Not as good as the 2019 transfers but they still say hello

Then you are saying you would rather not compete for national championships. So just say that.

Is this why MiLB is exploding in popularity?

How does this have anything to do with what I said?

I am 76 years old and remember when LSU players, what recruited from high school, stayed for 3 to 5 years and you learned their names and numbers. It is not like that now and there is good and bad in that. LSU is doing what it needs to do to be competitive and whether we like it or not that is the future at least for the short term of college football.

Example I will use for the last sentence - Mansore Delane just won the Thorpe award and it barely moved the needle for me as being proud or happy. He was a finished product when he arrived. In my mind not going to be anywhere close to the Tre Whites and Mo Claibornes for example

This is so true. Very well put.

This was always going to be the case once money got to being involved what did you expect ? Most LA kids who commit here still mostly bleed purple and gold

Derick Henry didn't go to Alabama because he loved Tuscaloosa

The point is whether you call in nil or revenue sharing, players were getting paid. So were their family. To act like this is new is either being naive or disingenuous. It’s just legal and out in the open now.

Once you pay them it's the NFL not college anymore.

That went out the window when professionals were allowed in the Olympics

Also, college FB was dictated by pros BEFORE the push for amateurs only. So we are actually going back to the origins
quote:

The Carnegie report of 1929 said 102 of the 130 colleges examined provided some kind of help to athletes.

The most detailed case was Washington and Jefferson, a small private school in Pennsylvania that was among the best teams in the nation in 1921 and went to the 1922 Rose Bowl. At W&J, boosters made contributions ranging from $10 to nearly $1,000 annually to a fund aggregating from $25,000 to $50,000 a year. From this the college expenses of all football players were paid and additional sums, termed ‘pay checks,’ were disbursed to leading performers

quote:

In 1939, a federal judge gave the practice of helping college football players pay their bills received an endorsement. “In a congratulatory letter to Cornell’s coach, Carl Snavely, Federal Judge Albert W. Johnson of Scranton, Pa., praised the system of subsidization as a boon to many poor boys"

Don't know about the rest of you, but I'm just having a hard time cheering for LSU when you know a majority of the players couldn't care less about LSU and are just using LSU for a paycheck.

so don’t cheer don’t go to a game but as for me I’m 100% on LSU whether the players are or not I know you won’t be missed.

This is the new world we live in adjust to it or get left behind

It’s probably been 50 years since a majority of the players came because they really love LSU.
