Hallman did beat #1 in the Country on their almost Home Field(Legion Field not Bryant -Denny), & the 1st thing Gerry DiNardo did when he got the job was to drop Florida State and Texas A&M, always 2 losses for Hallman
Bama was #5, not #1 and went 9-3-1 that season. Still a great victory for LSU without a doubt, but that specific Bama team was above average/good, not great. Still fun tho at that time.

1993 and 1994 were indescribable skull f*ckings.
Those are some of the stand outs.
I just recall Spurrier dropping 40 and 50 points on LSU as a regular thing in the '90s. He did it to Saban a time or two as well.

It was the time of unspeakable darkness. I was a freshman in '90 and went to almost every home game my entire college career.
That Florida State game in the rain was fun. I went to Gainsville in '92 to watch us lose.

The 93 Arkansas game freezing my dick off hoping we’d get bowl eligible but instead we allowed 3 different guys to run for over 100 yards and got stomped by the Hogs. Still a vivid memory
I was 10 years old at the time and the first time I took any interest in LSU football. Have been hooked since.

So much hope. So many disasters.

The summer before his last season he grew a beard to hide behind and frequented City Cafe in Plaquemine. Lots of drinks.
Then he shaved just before football started up

I remember thinking that we had a coach who meant business when I heard him say that.

Stationed in Alaska from 1990 to 1994 . Barely got any LSU games in that timeframe. It's like it never happened for me.

Was a freshman at LSU in 1990.
Football games were a blast but we sucked so bad.
Got to see the legend Chad Loup at QB, so I got that going for me.

He blamed his lack of success at LSU on the really hard schedule.
Sounds about right.
The thing to remember about Curley is that he was a crummy human being in addition to being a terrible coach.
The guy he replaced, Mike Archer, was also a terrible coach, but he was a genuinely good guy who was just in over his head.

Hell, so did Billy Brewer and Bill Curry.
Grew up outside Jackson, MS. So excited in 1991 I believe, LSU played Ole Miss in Memorial Stadium….and soundly got their collective asses beat 32-0……I was sitting about 10 rows up
on the 40 yard line. Best seats I ever had to an LSU game….

My favorite brag is that I stayed to the end of the 58-3 loss in 1993, the worst loss in Tiger Stadium history.
Same here. Watched the scoreboard go to 0:00. I hated Spurrier and Danny Wuerful for 20 years for that day.

Joe Dean hired both Archer and Hallman. He was just as much part of the problem.

Just wish the guy a happy birthday and let it go. And how the hell do you know Hallman's birthday anyway?

I am so blessed - started at LSU in 1956 - nothing but Paul Dietzel coached football teams - witnessed the birth of the Chinese Bandits (my favorite comic strip characters from childhood) and cheered their destruction of several teams, most notably Frank Howard's Clemson in the nat'l championship game, survived the Billy Cannon Halloween classic with my family in Tiger Stadium - enjoyed the advent of the Golden Girls (in which my granddaughter was a member for the next nat'l champinonship) and received a quality education in the mix.
What a life!!!!

I'll never forget watching Colorado St come into Tiger Stadium and beat the Tigers in 1992.

Might be one of the worst coaches in the SEC ever.

Please don’t insult Curly Howard! He was a very talented, genius comedian! Lol

Those of us who soaked in all that misery in 1993 at the hands of Spurrier only enjoyed the 1997 game that much more. The 1997 game was the payoff for watching 58-3.

I love the story about Curly was supposed to be at some alumni/booster golf function and was late...they called him and his response "I'm at a furniture store and they are having a really great sale. I'll be there shortly"
