, people that think Ensminger>Canada have no clue, and I was a big critic of Canada early in the season. I saw an OC for LSU this year that consistently put players in a position to make big plays. LSU didn't have the skill at the QB and WR position to capitalize, but the scheme was very good to great. That's something we haven't been able to say about LSU football in a long time.

I don't think this has much to do with Troy. It is more related to Canada's lack of involvement in LSU football and recruiting in particular.

If Orgeron/Alleva want to let Canada go, that's fine, but he set the bar pretty damn high IMO. Creative OCs that can recruit well don't grow on trees.

Oh make no mistake- it ultimately is on O. It was a major part of what he sold himself on to get the job...bringing in the best co-ordinators in the country. If the “best” in Os opinion is a total jerk, this behavior didn’t just start yesterday. It’s a part of the interview and reference process in the hiring. O botched it. No way around it. His next decision may cost him his job. Better make it a good one.

I REALLY like Matt Canada, but next year will be his 6th OC job in 8 years. He has been one and done at 4 different schools now. I know the Rant won't hear this but it is entirely possible (if not likely) that this is more complicated than their narrative of Orgeron demolishing the program.

Interesting. I always assumed that coaches who reach this level are a bunch of workaholics. I would have thought that he'd have to get up early the next morning to break down game film.

His history of moving around is not much different than other college assistant coaches.
Two universities hired him twice. He coached for 10 years at Indiana under 4 different coaches.
Another coach hired him twice.

Fat Goebbels and the Rosy Finch Boyz doing what they do... putting in work, "leaking" select propaganda to the BR media to cast a smoke screen and absolve themselves of any blame that may be cast before public opinion and facts manifest.
This is the new age of LSU Football. If the name of Canada's successor isn't Kendal Briles or Hugh Freeze, then this entire endeavor with Canada has been a miserable failure and next year doesn't look to show any hope of improvement.
On the schedule next year is Miami and Georgia along with Alabama and the rest of the SECW gauntlet. Ensminger has not fared well against those top teams. I really like Ensminger but we need a more modern approach to a pro style spread to give us any real hope of a true paradigm shift on offense. Yet after one year, here we sit in abeyance again.
