He wasn’t being held on…it’s common. Tennessee ran that play on purpose and we were caught napping.

It’s essentially the same as the hidden ball trick.

He’s gotta have more awareness than that. Where the F you going? You gonna steal? You ruined the inning.

Did you see the 1B positioned at normal depth at the end of the infield dirt?
Milam saw that before the pitch and took a larger lead.

Did you see the 1B break to the 1B bag at the pitch?
Milam had his back to the 1st Baseman and was watching the pitch when 1B broke to the bag.

It’s not something that normally happens. We were caught napping and it is what it is.

no, but you have a better chance of scoring on a ball to the gap

IDGAF about the throw. We shouldn’t even be posting about this. Senseless “aggression”. It’s like the 2019 Bama football game where we played single press coverage on Devonta Smith with 2 mins to go. Play off and let them catch it underneath.
But, I digress

Absolutely no need for a big lead at first with the bases loaded and two outs. First base runner is only scoring on a HR.

Just remind yourself you’re dealing with a group of people that haven’t even considered where first baseman was playing in that play.

I can understand taking a bit of a bigger lead off first with the first baseman not holding him on……. But….. there was literally no reason for that large of a lead with bases loaded. He couldn’t steal. With two outs he was running on contact, so he would have a great start even being close to first.

The huge lead off first was careless as hell.
