LSU record against A&M, Ark, OM, Aub

A&M 1-2 (1 loss by 2 runs)
Ark 0-3 (1 loss by 1 run)
OM 0-3 (1 loss by 2 runs, 1 loss by 3 runs)
Aub 1-2 (1 loss by 1 run, 1 loss by 2 runs)

2-10 with 6 of those 10 being by 1, 2, or 3 runs

Obviuosly not good enough - YET - but not as far as it might seem. Need 3 or 4 pitchers.

As far as the stadium from a fan perspective goes I will agree with you. As far as facilities for the players LSU is conservatively top 5 in the country in facilities.

With no starting pitching. And giving Schloss almost a full month ahead of us in the portal.
I though the A&M and Auburn series losses sucked at the time. Glass is half full now.

Too many so called LSU Fans are Chicken Little impersonators.
Lincoln Riley and Billy Napier are not taking the LSU Job, Scott Woodward has no clue what he is doing,Tony Vitello and Jim Schlossnagle are so much better than Jay Johnson change the record.

As i figured, this thread is filled with shite. All it proves is the tourney is mostly luck and who is hot, you just gotta get in.

No one would think ole miss had a better regular season than lsu. Does anyone think ole miss had a better regular season than tennessee?

Texas A&M was 29-27 last season and were the number 5 national seed and are in Omaha this season. If they can make that turnaround LSU can go from where this season ended to Omaha. I’m not sure why people think that’s such a big stretch.

The perspective is LSU was a combined 2-10 vs. those 4 teams. The 17-13 record was a bit misleading. Which means the season ending in a road regional probably should not have been an unexpected result.

This was a good, but not great team

It’s not misleading at all. They beat the teams they were better than and lost to the teams that were better than them. Ole Miss finishing 14-16 is more misleading as they were better than some of the teams they lost to early in the season.

Also puts in perspective how far we have to go to try and actually be “the man” again in college baseball.

There’s never going to be one team who’s “the man” in college baseball. Way too many good teams and inherent variance in the sport. Look no further than Vandy and Florida, who have recently won national titles but also are sitting at home….or Tennessee who was the best team all season only to lose at home.

Give us one team which did not have a starting, weekend pitcher returning. Then take away the next pitcher in line due to a season ending injury. Give us Perry & Dugas back in the lineup full time that last mth of the season. Not making excuses but Good Lord the term "negatiger" fits so many idiots here.

Yes we do. I’m convinced many of those posters are just trolls, however.

Anyway, what today shows is it’s all about who is playing best at the right time. The best teams aren’t necessarily going to Omaha. There isn’t much difference from Omaha teams to regional teams these days

You don’t find it a little disturbing that his successor’s hire is in Omaha first year? When Woodward knew that CPM was retiring and could have had any coach but probably Corbin?

ATM athletics seems to have improved without Woodward.

Just because he knew CPM was retiring doesn’t mean he could just hire a coach. LSU played into the supers and the guy he hired was still playing baseball after the season ended because he was in Omaha.

Did you want LSU to hire a coach that was sitting at home for the postseason?

I find it disturbing that Childress left a lot of good arms for Schloss and Paul left a pitching staff worse than Kennesaw states staff for Jay Johnson
