I agree but what made it predictable is that we ran "packages"on the field that only ran certain plays and thus made us very predictable

Watching Oregon highlights and offensive breakdowns makes me feel really embarrased that Pac 12 DC can t game plan against an offense that runs 20 different plays a game.

I agree.

It was obviously not working.

Harris actually had a nice TD pass in the game as well.

Miles can so damn stubborn.

Yeah Saban said he knew after the first series they were in good shape when they didn't have to load the box to stop the run. Facts are they had beasts in the front 7.

Yeah, it's not surprising at all nor should be to anyone that Miles believes in a run-heavy, ball control offense. And when push comes to shove, Miles will always try to rely on a power-run game. And sometimes this costs us games that we could have potentially won with some offensive creativity. In defense of his approach, this philosophy has also won us a shite-ton of games that we could have potentially lost had we allowed ourselves to get cute. (Bama has also won a shite-ton of games as well with an eerily similar overall offensive philosophy).

It should also be noted that it should not be a "story" that the head coach has the ultimate final call on everything and puts his "stamp" on the game-plan and play-calling, especially in a crucial game...Of course he does, he's the head coach! He has every right to do so as long as we are paying him as our head coach, as do all head coaches. We also, as fans, have the right to want different or changes, and if enough people begin to want a new head coach that will happen as well.

I love Miles, was ready for a change after last year, but still love and respect the man and as long as he is the HC here I will support and watch and root for him and his team. And occasionally I may disagree with his approach, as is my right, just as it is his right to run the program and games as he sees fit.

The o-line got their shite pushed in that game. No run game, Harris hurt and throwing that INT to start the 2nd half, game over.

It's time to move on to this coming season and get excited about this team.

.....So Les Miles calls the plays

I know DByrd has said in 08 Miles flat out took over the playcalling and they knew it was going to be disastrous.

This is just an opinion, but I believe Miles lets Cam call the plays, however he seems to have obvious influence.. Especially when regardless of the OC LSU has continued to call many of the same plays.

Miles probably did want to continue running Leonard. His comments afterwards echoed this.. I don't like GG either.. but you knows Miles is stubborn when post game he says it's all about execution and they aren't looking to change anything.. Think about that.. He says they just need to execute the plays they call better. That's stubborn. We need to have alternative actions.. we need better coaching to be more successful at exploiting other teams weaknesses.. not running right into their strength assuming we can just will our way.. like we do versus inferior teams..

Would you have kept feeding him, after it was clear the Oline was going to get him destroyed?

Unfortunately, we saw accuracy struggles all year with Harris. We couldn't just air raid bama with him not being able to throw anything short of a fly route. He got WR after WR lit up over and over again throwing balls high/off target.

I loathe Glenn as much as the next guy, but I seriously doubt our generously paid staff looked at the play calling and felt "yeah, that'll win the game for us!"

offensive assistant coaches tried to convince LSU head coach Les Miles not to run right at Alabama’s formidable Front Seven last season.

But Miles stuck with tailback Leonard Fournette.

Thanks Miles.

Just a random thought here, but I do think it's ironic that the Bama game in 2015 went downhill after a pass, not a run.

Biggest play of the game IMO was the INT... 1st down pass to start the 3rd qtr down 13-10 after LSU seemed to have grabbed momentum in the 2nd Qtr.

Which is largely irrelevant, when the same personnel, run the same plays, using the same blocking schemes over & over. When it comes to the bread & butter stuff, Les doesn't want to scheme or adjust he wants to physically dominate & make the other guy adjust.

Keep believing that. Whenever u see safties filling a hole at the LOS it means they are somewhere close to the box.

Oh yea no we shouldn't have kept feeding him. Les puckered up when Harris threw the interception first play of the second half.

I was told that, The stats prepared by the staff showed that bama opponents ran for about 1 YPC between the tackles and over 3 YPC outside the tackles. The game plan developed and practiced for two weeks emphasized staying away from running between the tackles and using the read option, end arounds, and getting Harris to the outside with a pass run option.

During pregame in Tuscaloosa, miles called together the staff and said "we are going to pound it at them and wear them down for 3 quarters and win it at the end." His employees objected but yielded to their boss. He still apparently thinks the 2011 game of the century model is the way to beat bama.

For what it is worth, I was told by a TE on the 2011 team that he did the same thing right before the 2011 BCSCG. They didn't run a single play they practiced for a month.
