I like Guidry but I think his best outings are behind him. The league has figured him out.

Guidry needs to be a 1 inning here and there guy.
I don’t really think he should see more than 4-6 hitters in an outing.

Can he go back to being an infielder?

I’d have taken him over our subs this past year

Guidry should have pitched for Rougarou, Cane Cutters or Gumbo Gators.

Guidry needs to become greg Maddox. If he wants to pitch past LSU he is going to need to be Maddox. Lots of movement on ball amd you dont have to throw it 95 to be successful.

Ummm what?
He doesn’t have the necessary control.
Could he get there? Maybe, but I don’t see it

Totally agreed. He is really hard to hit until the other team sees that hard slider.

Damn, I completely forgot that you can just will your way into becoming the greatest pitcher ever. I think I’ll do the same this upcoming season and start making $20MM a year instead of what I currently make

He needs to become one of the best pitchers of all time to pitch at LSU? If it was that easy, wouldn't everybody just "become Maddox?"

I like Guidry but think he's best as a closer only throwing one inning.

He's not really all that hard to hit, and he never has been. He throws strikes, which is more than you can say for most of our staff this year. But even when he was at his best, his freshman year, there were outings where he got pieced up.

The rant loves him bc he is from Louisiana and he shows emotion. The fact of the matter is, he is not that great.

If he somehow finds 5 mph extra over the off season, then sure. He could be a solid piece. But he is a one pitch guy, and it doesnt usually get the job done.
