Yea because anybody can just turn into one of the best pitchers in MLB history overnight

I s it too late now for him to move to infielder? That's what he wanted right?

Guidry needs to become greg Maddox. If he wants to pitch past LSU he is going to need to be Maddox. Lots of movement on ball amd you dont have to throw it 95 to be successful.
That's all he'll have to do?
The boomer idea of "Greg Maddux" is hilarious.
1. He didn't start throwing slow until the last few years of his career,
2. He had a much bigger zone than today's pitchers.
3. He had absolutely ELITE stuff.
4. He had the best command in the history of baseball.
5. Guys back then were much more focussed on making contact. A mistake in 1994 turned into a hard hit ground ball the other way. A mistake in 2026 is in the parking lot.
6. 88 with movement doesn't fool anyone anymore. Zac Cowan was a finesse pitcher throwing 94 mph 2 seam fast balls. These guys see 85 at 13 years old now.

He's a 1 inning guy who has had success. He needs to keep the breaking ball down. When he does - he's good. When he doesn't - he's bad.
He has pitched 3 years at LSU. 2 have been good. 1 has been dreadful. He absolutely has a spot on the roster if he wishes to return.

Does he have a good bat?

quote:No. That's a big part of the reason he was moved into the bullpen and never looked back. Part of it was due to injuries, but he really struggled in the intersquads prior to the 23 season.
