Bingo!
The Tigers weathered some good fortune early but the sky is the limit for the team

He says:
Ole Miss outplayed LSU for most of the game and missed multiple opportunities to make plays
However, he thinks Nussmeier is the real deal who will only get better as the season goes on and that despite the close games, LSU is able to create favorable matchups when they have to have it.
He thinks the defense is improving.
IMO, it will be interesting to see where the season goes. In their 4 power conf. games to date, LSU has played on the razor's edge in three of them. USC, South Carolina and Ole Miss ALL could have easily been different results. LSU has played 120+ minutes of SEC games this year. They've played with the lead for approximately 3 minutes ...total! Arguably their most complete game was against USC...and they lost!
Pessimistically, they can't continue to play with such a thin margin for error and win all of those games. Like vs. USC, the odds say the breaks aren't going to go your way every time.
Optimistically, if the defense is truly gaining a little traction you are encouraged by the Ole Miss game. LSU's offense arguably played its worst game of the season. Yet, when they had to have it they came through. If you don't think LSU is going to play that poorly again on offense, then the trajectory is pointing up.

NO blind links.
NO mention of babes without pics.
There are rules. Without them, we fall into anarchy, AKA The Political Board.

For context, 5 minute Youtube video saying we're a contender.

If we wanted to do that, we’d be there doing that instead of here being lazy and scanning threads.

Don’t sleep on LSU!!!!
I love it! Good listen and really does speak the truth imo
Lsu is dangerous and can definitely bounce back hard the rest of the season if pieces continue to fall into place.

A lot of people get frustrated with Sloan's play calling especially early but I think a lot of Sloan's early calls (which are generally unsuccessful) are setting up advantageous play calling and matchups late. It can be really stressful especially against good defenses like Ole Miss but you just have to remain patient and committed to the plan.

What is frustrating about that game is I don't believe CBK trusted Nuss to check out of running plays to convert the short down and distance for a first down when USC was stacking the box when USC stopped the LSU offense twice in the 4th quarter. I think CBK trust him now.

Alternatively, Sloan has no idea how LSU's offense will play from week to week, and needs a few series (or a quarter) to get a feel for the game.
Not saying it's a good or bad way to coach, it is what it is. So far, though, we've come out on the winning side all but one time (and likely would have won the USCw game if it had happened a little later in the year when Sloan knew more about his offense).

I don’t understand this sentiment. LSU’s DL exposed OM’s OL while the LSU OL kept Nuss clean. It was a typical football game where some strengths and weaknesses showed, and the stat line was ultimately very even. LSU missed opportunities too, especially in the red zone. Ultimately if a team is missing opportunities, then they aren’t outplaying the opponent.

The most frustrating call he made was later in the game when we tried to do an outside zone read option with Jackson on 4th and 2. Nuss is not a threat to run so DE can just tee off on RB and Jackson doesn't have enough "wiggle" to make that first defender miss. Either have different personnel on the field to attempt that play or call something that fits your personnel. I thought in the offseason we had heard potential to bring in Hurley or Collins as a dual threat at moments like that?

We're in mid October in the top ten. We're right there in the hunt to make the CFP. We have to win 3 of the next 4.

Although I bleed P&G, I’m also a subjective fan. Ole Miss led until the end. That being said, someone had to keep them from making plays. The opening drop was totally on the wr. No excuse, but the tigers made their own interceptions. Their forced fumble. Their 4th down red zone stops. Convert 2 fourth downs in the waning moments and forced a long fg and surpassed it with a TD. Stats “don’t always tell everything” , but the box score was damn near dead even.
Now, 800 lb elephant in the room: WHY CAN WE NOT RUN THE FOOTBALL? That issue will cost us down the road. They’ve got to fix it.

The calls on the two TD throws were perfect. He used outside routes to draw off for Anderson inside and we also had Thomas open short for an easy first down. Either way, the play design helped open up two guys.
The last play was even better. Putting Lacy in motion got him on their weaker CB and it was just the better guy winning at that point. It’s all amount creating matchups the defense doesn’t want to give you.
Sloan still has plenty of learning and improving to do, especially in getting the run game more creative and consistent. But he’s not as bad as some of you claim he is, either.
