Kelly FAILED.
Did NOT have that team ready to play the game. Did NOT have that team ready for the 3rd Quarter.
Sorry but that is on the COACHES NOT the players (who are no longer just "kids" but paid professionals).

Kelly's overhaul of LSU will take time. He doesn't have the players, particularly on the offensive line, to successfully run a balanced, efficient offense.
That said, I agree that there was plenty of discipline and communication breakdowns across the board (Ali Gaye, Boutte, Nabers, special teams).
I thought this was going to be a very close game, and I picked LSU to win. However, the game wasn't indicative of the 24-23 score. Also, I thought FSU was sloppy as well, and I don't think they're that good of a football team.
I'm not giving him a grade, but I wasn't overly impressed. Again, I know this will take time, but they looked pretty humdrum out there.

I give him a D for week 1 performance, but not for all of the reasons you mentioned.
However, its unfair to say all of the units were "undisciplined". This implies unprepared. Without a doubt, it is an indisputable fact that special teams were unprepared. It is also my opinion that the offensive game-plan needed to be adjusted a lot sooner than it was and the poor center snaps were a discipline issue as well. This is why I give him a D.
All of the other issues you mentioned can be directly related to things beyond a coaches control. The most obvious being a lot of these guys just suck at their job at this point in the season and this point in their career. Obviously, one hopes that can be corrected over time.

C
Positives:
1. Despite everything they still
had a chance to win.
2. Defense in goal line situations was awesome.
3. Eventually got the d and o settled in.
4. I didn’t think the team looked tired at any point. Strength and conditioning is good imo.
Negatives:
1. Special teams-
2. Took too long to move to tempo on offense.
3. Maybe from the tv it looked different but from the stands it looked like we had low energy/intensity.

Our whole team was aligned to suck.

The paramount issue may be the ability of players to understand and ABSORB instruction and transfer those messages to live action. Take that for what it is worth. Some people just can't handle what is taught.

F is the only correct answer

F for Fundamentals.
Every single team fielded lack many basics. It was sloppy play. How or why couldn’t we at least do the little things right?

I’d give a C-
Working with Ed O’s leftovers first and foremost. Managed to come within a blocked xp of OT after 2-3 quarters of dog shite football.
On the flip side, would have hoped the team be more prepared on both sides of the ball for the first half. FSU’s offensive game plan was executed to perfection to disrupt LSU’s strength (DL) and exploit their weakness (LB).
Special Teams was absolutely atrocious and obviously reason #1 for the loss. Get it corrected and move on!

INCOMPLETE!
Like everyone else, I was excited for the start of the season, and regardless of the loss and how bad we looked, I STILL am. I'm amazed at how folks are literally losing their minds. I'm old enough to remember just 9 months ago we had a WR playing QB in a bowl game and us having only 30 scholorship players. I can also remember the numerous tranfers in and out of the program. I get it...we are a top tier program, but I don't care who we hired, NOBODY can piece together a team in 9 months and be expected to go out and look like a well oiled machine. These players are new to this particular system, new to the coaches, and some don't even have any experience. As painful as this transition is going to be, we as a fan base have to accept that we are going to take a lot of lumps this season. These players deserve our support more than ever right now, and our coaches as well. The beauty of all this is when we do right the ship, AND WE WILL, a lot of folks are gonna eat their words. So stay up....support our guys....take these lumps....and when we are back to smashing teams, it's gonna be a beautiful thing!!!
STAY STRONG TIGER NATION.....THIS TOO SHALL PASS!

I think things will get better every game and every year. But if you think about it we are paying CBK nearly $1,000,000 per game (I didn’t calculate it out, but certainly over $750,000).
For that much money; I thought we would look better coached. I think new contracts should be heavily incentive based on game performance.
Granted, even if this were the case, Eaux would still be riding around in his $15,000,000 - $20,000,000 shrimp boat after he won the national championship.

F and he has to go to summer school. Fl. State sucked. You pay someone almost a million dollars for that shite. And who the hell are his assistant coaches? They need to go to trade school.

D-
Not ready to play. Lack of discipline, poor offensive game plan, waited too late to go fast on offense, worst special teams I've ever seen, no third down defense even on third and forever just like the last two years. This didn't look any different from the previous 2 years with the exception that special teams were awful.

The coaches were not prepared and were out coached. It was unacceptable. Now go fix it and do t make the same mistakes twice.
Grade D-.

I expect losses this year. But when we do I figured at a minimum we'd be qell coached and disciplined.
We weren't, and that has zero to do with skill level
This is the point. Brian kelly better never look like that again on the sidelines. He was completely out of it. Shite was embarrassing.

F. I would give the team a D because the defense was solid and kept LSU in the game until FSU decided to go prevent.
Sorry, but the Offense is BK's "expertise" and they underperformed terribly. Installing a run first QB with accuracy issues who can't throw a quick out or read a defense is a bad look, especially here.
