You keep saying this without any actual examples.

becoming an adversary of Landry’s. Demise was of his own making.

He became an adversary of Landry’s when Landry wanted Wade rehired and Woodward (rightfully) said no.

Way wrong answer

Garrett Graves pissed off every republican leader in the state. Woodward and Graves were buds. Big buds

You think Graves endorsement of Waguespack had nothing to do with his district being the one redrawn?

Landry didn’t do shite except talk.

His political career is now tied to the future success of LSU’s football program. And it better be pretty immediate success.

The first shoe to drop will be how well the new coach is perceived but either way most people will still wait to see the results on the field. So he can say he won’t be involved in the hiring process all he wants but he’s already inserted himself as part of the results.

He should be doing whatever he can to make sure LSU gets a competent coach. If that means staying out of it so be it.

I won’t even bet on LSU football. I sure wouldn’t bet my career on it.

Grave was a US congressman

When Scalise was running for Speaker, Graves was telling people he had cancer and couldnt do the job
quote:

'I know what was being said': Steve Scalise suggests Garret Graves undercut speaker bid

Then when Mike Johnson was up for speaker, he was trying to derail him too
quote:

Rep. Garret Graves (R-La.) — once one of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy's top lieutenants — is increasingly persona non grata in the GOP for threatening to challenge other Louisiana Republicans in November.

Not one single leader wanted Graves back in DC

His district was taken instead of Letlows, because he was a Kevin McCarthy fan, before being a La. fan

Not it, I live in Baton Rouge, Landry as AG ran for Governor and Steve Scalise backed Landry and wanted Graves to be aligned with him n backing Landry. Graves backed Stephen Waguespack who was part of Jindal's administration and then was the leader of the Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce.. Graves backed him. Scalise was pissed off at him, correct, and he and Landry worked to redraw the Congressional districts to gerrymander Graves district out of existence.

Landry and Scalise worked with Cleo Fields in Baton Rouge to create a 2nd black majority district, (Cleo Fields now holds the 6th District which Graves use to hold) which it seems both Conservative anti Landry factions and some black voter advocacy groups joined together and filed suit. Of course, behind all this it seems was a deal to protect pro Landry GOP and work with Cleo Fields to get enough black members of LA house and Senate to approve it (Fields was looking out for himself) districts that put large numbers of black voters in one district so he could get elected, thus diluting the impact of black voters in other districts.

Landry got sued and this case is before SCOTUS and it looks like the districts Landry drew up are going to be found unconstitutional based on this article. We will know in June of 2026 the outcome. If SCOTUS says the Districts need to be redrawn before 2026 Midterms and directs Landry to call a special session in July or August of 2026 to do so, I will vote Graves back to the House seat he had (I voted for him every time). Then in 2027 I hope he primaries Landry and beats his a...z, politically speaking.

Wait, Graves backed Wags (who didnt make it to a run-off) and you think Graves has the power to beat Landry in an (R) primary?

There’s plenty of publicly available information on SWs political affiliations if you want to dig into it. And that’s just what’s known; there’s always deeper layers of a situation unknown except for the individuals involved. Post-mortem books/stories always shed light on things no one knew before. Hell just look at stuff coming out now about how CBK was running his program and what his players thought about him. This situation is way more complicated than just “drrr, Landry’s an idiot, he lied..drr”.

I’m well aware of Woodward’s political affiliations.

It really shouldn’t be, though. My frustration is with Landry doing Landry things related to LSU just because it scores some points & gives him attention.

- Omar appearance
- WBB National Anthem
- BoS Ticket Price tweet
- Kirk statue
- Woodward comments & media tour

I wouldn’t really care about the Woodward stuff if this was a one-off situation but this is what Landry does.

For the record, I’m okay with Kelly and Woodward being gone.

Haha, not in the slightest. Haven’t lived in the state since 1994 and have no vested interest in your governor. I’m just don’t suffer from LDS that afflicts so many on this board and the viewpoint biases that come with it.

Nothing more than a CHS alum fan fiction fever dream. Not enough alums to even fund or elect him .

He did such a great job blowing 130mil of other people’s private money that we should give him access to taxpayer money? Hard. Pass.

It makes the person sound dumb. It just does.

When that person happens to be saying something dumb, it doubles the impact of the dumb statement.

No, but I think he was a lobbyist at one time. He is also very politically connected. Scott can’t really run because he is liberal. I guess he could win a local election, but zero chance at statewide office.

He doesn't exactly seem like the type that cares to be corrected even if he's wrong. I just hope a better Republican comes along for the next election.
