I completely agree with him on this one.

Honestly, I loved it as a kid.
Looking back, having 100k screaming at you in a tiny cage cannot be exciting for Mike, unless they give Mike some tiger Xanax.

And it's hard to fathom that people think LSU acquires full grown tigers so they can be playthings for the football program rather than spectacular additions to a superb vet school.

It's not a big deal to drive Mike around the field, literally across the street from his home, for half an hour, 7 times per year.

According to the vets who manage them, it is a big deal. And I'll defer to them on this point. They want to keep them in the habitat and based on what I've read, they're doing what they believe is best for the animal. I can live with it (although I too miss seeing the drive around the field)

This is the kind of battle more likely to get the tradition of having a Mike ended completely, than him back on the field. The administration won’t want him out there anyway, but bringing this into the limelight will surely attract PETA people with nothing better to do.
