At LSU, he's going to have access to better recruits -- the kind of players he could never dream of landing at Notre Dame -- plus the commitment of a school that doesn't rest on its laurels of "being Notre Dame" and thinking that matters to 17-year-old high school kids. Maybe Kelly won't win a national championship but he's closer at LSU than he will ever be at Notre Dame. There's only one program in America the last 3 HCs have won the national title. It's LSU. The fans will inevitably turn on him and be unhappy but they're perpetually angry down there. That comes with the territory. Kelly took on this challenge because it's a better gig than Notre Dame. He's not backing down from a tougher path to the playoff because just getting there isn't the goal.

He’s definitely on point about y’all being perpetually angry.

That's not true. I was happy for a few days in 2019-20.

I think we were all happy starting Nov. 9, 2019 and ending around Jan. 16, 2020, when both Brady and Aranda announced they were leaving.

So, a good solid two months.

There were "Fire Aranda" threads here.

Yep, until he left on his own. Then everyone was pissed about that.
