Thought Canada did a good job this year, but that isn't the point.
The point is O hired this man, and made him the highest paid offensive coordinator in the nation and one year later because of personal differences Alleva is going to have to ask for another buy out from the board. That just isn't good business, and it's O's fault for not figuring out more about Canada beforehand.
So now with a whole lot of changing parts on the offensive end we are going to have a new coordinator as well. So yeah there are reasons to freak out.

Only YOU would see there wasn't a difference.................
Etling himself said that O let them run plays in games that they practiced during the week but Miles would not let them run in games.....

The QB u stupid shortsighted MF. Kids don’t fit in that USC style offense now. U like O can’t think past today. Changing so soon and flipping philosophy will cause doubt in recruits stupid.

Miles used to have candidates battle it out for the OC job? Savage

I'm gonna pose you this question:
Who would you rather have as your OC?
Matt Canada or Steve Ensminger

only wisky and pitt were 1 year.
he was at NC state for 3 years
was at another place from 1998- 2003

Not true. How this bullshite misinformation has 18 upvotes shows how willing the idiots on this board are to accept complete lies if they make O look bad.
Canada has only lasted 1 year in 6 out of his 8 offensive coordinator gigs (Butler, NIU, NIU again, Wisconsin, Pitt, LSU). And he was fired for fighting with his head coach in another (NC State). So that’s 7/8 OC stops that have ended either extremely quickly or in total disaster. It’s pretty obvious that Canada has some type of major issue when he gets into a position of leadership on a team. Not sure how this is even debatable at this point.
For someone who likes to repeat over and over how much he likes FACTS, you sure are quick to lie and say that Canada has only had 2 one year stints as an OC. Blame O for making such a risky hire, but let’s not pretend that O is somehow the dickhead in this situation

Genius move Derek?
Spend so much on buyouts so LSU will hesitate to fire him and be strapped with another buyout. Thus keeping him in the big office longer?

one of the few things i will agree with you on

yeah he is so wanted after being fired as OC at auburn. canada has the better resume and better comcepts.

Not taking up for O but if there's as much conflict as rumored it has to be a good thing for the split. Not good for chemistry, example for players and overall success. Someone in another post stated how saban and kiffin hated each other (and that's probably true) but kiffin ate shite and saban chewed his arse alot. It's ok to disagree but they needed to keep it civil and couldn't so that's on both O and Canada.

Who cares... Did the offense look better after O and he took over last year??? YES... IMO we would have A better record next year with Steve as OC than Canada..................

Thank you for correcting the inaccurate statements. People really do exaggerate around here. I guess I’ll join along. What if I told you Saban was at like 5 different schools in his first 6 seasons coaching..
And the main reason Canada left Pitt was for full control of the offense and to help get a HC gig. O said he would stay out the offense.

Not true.
I was about to post the same thing. As OC, all his gigs have been < 1 year, except NC State and IN (OC for 4 seasons). Admittedly, the changes early in his career were prob due to advancing his career. But I found the changes later in his career troubling when we hired him. Here are the details by year:
1997 Butler (offensive coordinator/quarterbacks)
1998-2003 Northern Illinois (running backs, 1998-2000; quarterbacks, 2001-02; offensive coordinator/quarterbacks, 2003)
2004-10 Indiana (quarterbacks, 2004; quarterbacks/passing game coordinator, 2005-06; offensive coordinator/quarterbacks, 2007-10)
2011 Northern Illinois (offensive coordinator/quarterbacks)
2012 Wisconsin (offensive coordinator/quarterbacks)
2013-15 NC State (offensive coordinator/quarterbacks)
2016 Pittsburgh (offensive coordinator/quarterbacks)
2017 LSU (offensive coordinator/quarterbacks)

I would say he was advancing his career as a position coach, working his way up the coaching ladder to better jobs. OTOH, as a CFB HC it's been a different situation.
His first HC job was at Toledo which left after one year to become the DC for Bill Belichick in the NFL (actually, one could argue the NFL job was a career advancement). Leaving MSU for LSU was career building. Leaving LSU for the pros was thought to be a promotion.
1990 Toledo
1991–1994 Cleveland Browns (DC)
1995–1999 Michigan State
2000–2004 LSU
2005–2006 Miami Dolphins
2007–present Alabama
