I recently read on here how much better this team was and that they had a chance to compete in the SEC.

I don’t know how any avid basketball fan starts making real positive assessments after games against Tarleton, UNO, FIU, and Alcorn. It’s laughable really.

I’m not going to dump on them either, but to get excited over play against vastly inferior opponents is insane. I honestly couldn’t believe some die hard hoops posters were crowing about these wins. Texas Tech and SMU will be good barometers.

They’ve played to competition so far. Like I’ve said before; Reece is X factor and if miller gets comfortable, this team has no excuses. Defense is poor just to be able to figure out how to score. CMM can figure out this rotation, they will have a tough opponent soon.

The Will Wade ship has left the dock.
LSU basketball was fun to watch and follow with him at the helm.
NCAA , Feds wire tap, and LSU not willing to stand up to the NCAA in court like many other schools had success in doing.
Now Wade is in the ACC at North Carolina State and going to make his presence know. Good for him. I am sure he is now glad not to be at LSU where the administration threw him under the bus. Not to mention his contract 17million over 3 years .

26 point win that could have been 40 if we played the starters all game. 107 has to be close to a record on offense, especially in the McMahon era.

3rd highest under McMahon. Scored 109 vs UCF (3OT) and 110 vs Mississippi Valley State last year.

That 110 point game brought a lot of positivity as it was the last game before SEC play started and made us think last year might be different... Then LSU lost 10 of the next 11 games.

It took us almost until halftime to take the lead and then it was only 6 points.

Alcorn was running their offense pretty much as they pleased with little resistance. I thought as I watched, "they are the best team we've played", which isn't much of a stretch since we've played 3 other teams that are not very good.

Their record was 0-5 but I figured they've played up. So I looked it up and yes but they really had gotten it handed to them by the better teams on that slate....so it was a bit disappointing for the first half particularly and it was still an 8-point game halfway throught the second half before we pulled away.

I still see some warning signs Re: my biggest issue with CMM teams - physicality - outside of the big transfer from State, I still don't see enough of it....hope I'm wrong on that.

110 vs Mississippi Valley State

Mississippi Valley State is perineally the nation's worst Div I team year-in, year-out, and it's not even close.

Did I miss something? Aren’t we 4-0 and scoring better than we have since 30-years ago and better than when Wade was here? Odd time to criticize the current coach

You know knee jerk reactions early in games from some of these posters. They never can wait for the game to end before becoming hyper critical.

The issue is most of the posters on here have no reading comprehension skills whatsoever. Lots of good teams “struggle “ early in games. Some struggle the entire game. Like Auburn needing overtime to beat #288 Bethune Cookman or Arkansas beating 2-3 Winthrop last night by 1 point. No one is saying this team will be in the top echelon of the SEC. Just saying they look better than they have his first 3 years. If you attack that you are nothing more than an emotionally stunted hack. If you want LSU to lose so they will fire McMahon then you aren’t an LSU fan. It really that simple. Let the season play out and the chips fall where they may but you should be pulling for these players. Period.

That's an interesting proposal.

The administration that hired him is gone and the people who put the new administration in pushed hard to replace McMahon last season. I think it is entirely possible MM has his best season ever at LSU...and still gets replaced.

Sorry for the hijack, but I just had to laugh at this phrasing.

Perineally as defined: relates to or is situated in the perineum, the region of the body between the anus and the genital organs.

but "it is not even close" ehh?

I'm sure the word Tarzana was looking for is perennially.

They’ve given up 80+ to FIU and Alcorn State. SEC teams may average 100 ppg against us

If you’re not sniffing the tournament in 3 years at any P5 job in basketball you should be fired.
