we have a precedent to look back on for this. Joe Burrow arrived at LSU in 2018 as a 4th year college QB at 22. Lets compare Joe in 2018 to Jayden in 2022 shall we: Burrow 2018: 219/379 (57.8%) 2894 Yards 16 TDs 5 INT 128 rushes 399 Yards 7 TDs Daniels 2022: 238/347 (68.6%) 2566 Yards 15 TDs 2 INT 174 rushes 824 Yards 11 TDs
Stop it. Don’t do this unless you will be honest with yourself and add

Burrow less than 10 starts before 2018
Daniels close to 30 starts before 2022

Some of you will jump through hoops to defend JD. It’s disrespectful to compare him to Burrow while you do it.

I've seen some potential for improvement in enough moments this year where if he learns to fully trust the offense and his receivers he can break out in 2023.

What kind of improvement are you referencing here?

JD has made many strides this year--in the run game, decision making, defense recognition, and even the short yardage passing game. I am not bashing him. We can win with him and he is a good quarterback.

But I have not seen improvement in his downfield passing game...mentally or physically. He is either in his own head, or he cannot make the throws and lives on a leash from the coaches. Can't watch games and not see that. The hesitation is puzzling for someone with as much experience as he has. That lack of deep threat--either from the pocket or once he scrambles--is what is holding him (and us) back from taking the O to a new level.

Can we at least say that next year Jayden will take a big step.

No.

He has way too many starts to see a major change now.

The reason Joey B made so much progress is he only had one season of starts under his belt before the light went on and he had few bad habits to break.

JD is the way he is because he developed in the athlete-deficient PAC-12. He was able to dominate as an athlete from the QB position.

It's different in the SEC. When a team is able to control his running, he hasn't developed his arm enough to win with it.

Also, he learned to trust his legs more than his teammates. While we saw flashes of what he could become, when the going gets tough he's relies on himself. That works sometimes, but eventually superior coaches and athletes will put a stop to that.

not just that. see my post above. he had zero context in those stats. they do not tell you what i laid out above unless you watch both and compare.

If you haven’t noticed, many of our fans are idiots and will only be happy if burrow comes back to play.

352 posts and you had to show your ignorance.
Give me an example of a Coach telling how they truly feels about their next opponent. We could be 0-12 and Kirby would find something positive to say about our team.

There aren’t anymore Spurrier Tennessee relationships. Harbaugh pretty funny but most all coaches say nice things about their worst opponent. It’s just the safe play

The last 2 road games I’ve witnessed Arkansas and A&M fans talk good things about Daniels and our own fans argue with them and say that he’s trash. Each time I’ve said to myself that we have some dumb fricking fans.

I believe eventually is now. Zone and spy. Confuses him to throw and spy limits his runs. Imagine what the athletes at ga will do against that when there is no downfield threat. I'm surprised it took this long.

Then he underachieved. JJ sucked and with the talent we had back then we should’ve won another ship. Lee made 2011 happen

It's to have a record like Jayden has. He walks on campus. He plays on a new team and staff. He wins 9 games. His last win should be a bowl game. Who thought he would be QB1 with 10 win season. Not me for sure.

If he wasn’t impressed he wouldn’t mention Jayden as an individual. He would have mentioned the offense as a whole. Cmon man don’t let your hatred for the dude blind you here.

Did you hear how CBK talked about UAB's players?
Named off several players as being good. For UAB.
Take off off the P&G glasses.

What do you honestly expect him to say? “Jayden is an awful passer who only throws comeback routes to the sidelines, I sure hope he’s LSU’s starter next year.”

Were you expecting something different from Kirby? “Their QB sucks. He can barely complete a pass 20 yards down the field.” We’re gonna run the ball down their throats with ease.”

We would be 4-8 without JD5.....I promise you, GA is nervous about playing LSU with JD5!
