I think another thing that jumps out is that the rest of the SEC lost just as much as we did. Julio Jones and Mark Ingram, gone. AJ Green, gone. Ryan Mallet, gone. Cam Newton, gone. Tim Tebow, long gone.
Aside from Darron Thomas and LaMichael James, who individually jumps out at you on our schedule that seems imposing or daunting? Teams as a whole, whether on our schedule or possible SECCG opponents, are talented and may have marquee players but not on the level those previous players reached. Not yet, anyway. Hopefully it isn't against us that they hit those levels
As far as legit-ness of the qb's, who else has a backup qb that came in off the bench and drove the length of the field, converted 4th&12 late leading to a TD?
Who else has a potentially 3rd-stringer who threw a last minute TD pass on the road in the swamp?
Who else has a QB that's possibly looking at potentially losing all PT this coming season after an injury substitution brings him in to convert a clutch 3rd and long to seal a win over the defending national champs?
They may be inconsistent, but they came through when we needed them after the defense, the strength of the team, couldn't hold teams and gave up late TD drives. They can definitely improve, but give them their due for when they performed to the level they needed to to win games.

I think we'll be in the hunt, along with Bama and Arky, to win the SEC West in 2011. That's enough for me at this point: one step at a time, starting with a trip to Atlanta.

Ware looks like the real deal.

Oregon game is a must-win, despite what people are saying. We will not get thru the SEC undefeated (when was the last time we did that- '58?).
Lose to Oregon and thats at least 2 losses- only one other team played in the BCS with 2 losses.
And yes, that was LSU. But the odds of it happening again are astronomical.
Beat Oregon and beat WVU, and I like our chances. A lot.

Crazy? Consider this- ever do any street-racing as a teen? JJ was the QB last year, and he did the equivalent of dropping the clutch at the start, spun out a few times, missed gears completely- and still won. Because his car (LSU) was a beast. Imagine doing that and then coming back knowing more what to do... you'd feel invincible.
There is something to be said for having a talented team that absolutely knows it will win. Things get tough, you just say "ok, so let's do ____" instead of panicking.

Mett will hopefully be the QB. If not, I don't think we are in the hunt.

LSU will be monstrous, deep, and fast on both sides of the line of scrimmage.

I want to be positive going into next season, and I want to start being positive now.
National Championships are rare for any one team so it's not really a positive thing to go into a season looking for your team to win one. You're setting yourself up for bigger letdowns. Being positive about your team would be remaining open to all possibilities and standing behind your team no matter what. Just sayin

If it works for you, by all means go with it. But I would caution you to take care in counseling others based on your own particular experience. Others may have more fun anticipating the Championship and not experience the same letdown avoidance you do from lowered expectations.

all the stories out of practice about Mett and JJ are positive.
if Mett can wrest away the starting job by Oregon
LSU should be favored to win the BCS NC.
If JJ starts Oregon, we will all be on pins and needles, even from Oregon game on.
I was amazed to read in Dandy's website that Cameron Fordham is impressing in drills. That's fricking amazing for a guy I thought was just a legacy guy. Is he the #3 center now?

LSU stomps oregon in dallas. that will be the start of an incredible season (and maybe even 2 seasons with the way everything sets up)

Can't add nothing to the very good non-tard post above.
Will be a great year for TIGER football.

Gimme the best argument you got that this year's football team will be great and in the hunt for a national championship at the end of the year.
