I don’t know much about OTOP but apparently Moscona chided them for “breaking” or leaking info.. and now they keep mentioning him in snarky tweets 
I am here for it

They’ve been breaking big time news for at least a year. They had the Chase opt out first as well if I remember right. They also called all of the firing’s after the season.

I don’t have a Twitter but I’ll have to keep an eye on them, then. I don’t care who breaks it if it’s legit.. but I guess some of the media guys get territorial

Think scone man made some comments a few weeks back about going to trusted sources for news breaking like brody miller and journalists with verified sources. I dont think he specifically called out OTOP, but they may have taken it that way

I specifically remember Moscona giving that spiel after the Marcus Freeman hire fell through...I assumed he was referring to the AYS guy since he was the one tweeting that the Freeman hire was a done deal.

Moscona called them “dopey faced podcast boy” on his morning scone show. Sounds like him and other established journalists in the area are upset that the new kid on the block is breaking news now. Moscona needs to kick rocks

It's weird how Pod of Geauxld just let themselves be completely supplanted by OTOP. Those guys moved into and filled that fan-produced, nothing off limits space in less than 1 year.

I've got some advice for him, stop being petty and jealous and get better sources willing to divulge to him before those guys. Sources with timely/breaking info are a major part of the job.
This is childish on both sides part but Moscona seems moreso in this instance because he got beat to the punch and is bitter about it. Doubt very seriously he had the info and sat on it so he should just do better at his job.

I mean if they want to break stuff that’s fine. But I don’t want their breaking news to ruin a coaching search/signing/transfer because they leak what was supposed to be confidential info. It’s a media problem and especially on college sports that people have to be the first and sometimes leak private matters for clout.

The problem is that actual journalists have to (are supposed to) vet info before sharing it and Twitter guys can just throw shite and hope it sticks.
Real journalists also have to be careful what they “break” because they don’t want to burn bridges with their sources since it’s their living at stake.
Neither of these reasons matter cuz journalists share bs into all the time and they are just sour that they aren’t first.
The real issue is that these Twitter guys steal the moment from the kids or coaches. A decent comparison is your GF finding out you broke up with her from a Twitter account before you tell her. It’s just shitty. They shouldve let TJ announce it himself and they should let Paul be the one to announce his retirement. Just my 2 cents.

I used to Stan pretty hard for those guys on here but they let covid 19 beat them. They started playing golf and just stopped recording.
Even if they did come back for the 2021 season, they already lost most of their listeners and they don’t offer a unique product anymore. When they started, they were one of the only LSU podcasts out. Now that they’ve given up their market share, there is nothing unique about them. They could have survived as the “OG” podcast but you can’t take a year off and think no one will notice.

Moscona was upset that OTOP “broke” news that as he put it was common knowledge, but media members wanted to let Mainieri go out in his own way, that he had earned that. He was upset because “dopey faced podcast boy” broke that news so that they would be first. Personally I see where he’s coming from, and I can see why OTOP “broke it.” I don’t have an issue with either view.
As for Pod of Geauxld, I used to be a weekly listener but I took it as the second the going got tough for the football program their interest level dipped. I could be wrong though. I have a hard time believing two life long friends that was just a buddy pod stopped recording because of Covid.
