It's actually a legit question. In 11 games as a soph Giles had 1158 yds and 13 TDs and 16.8ypc. That's likely up there close to some LSU all-time single season numbers.
It's better than OBJ and Landry's best seasons. Replicating those numbers would've made him an all-time great WR at LSU.

He had some nice talent, injury derailed him here.
I don't recall an injury.
His lack of athleticism was exposed here.

It's not Josh Reed yardage, but more TDs. Reed 2001 was un-guardable. I've never seen a WR seemingly open on ever play like Reed.

What I saw in games (at LSU) was a guy with minimal separation, no burst and an inability to do much with the ball in his hands. I don't want to denigrate the guy, but there was just nothing dynamic about his game.
It's fair to say that his stats at TTU were, in part, a byproduct of that system. However, it's also fair to so say his lack of production at LSU, in part, was also due to LSU's system. LSU hasn't exactly been a great place for WR's to put up eye popping numbers (outside of 2013)
Was he probably overrated? Sure. But so were the fans expectations of him in an offense usually, average to below average in the passing dept.

It helps that his QB was Patrick Mahomes and he was playing against shitty Big XII defenses every week

Many would have picked him on their team over jefferson before last season started due to percieved potential and past stats... The stats don't lie he had a great collegiate season before LSU and Jefferson had a great season last year. I'm curious who will lead our team in recieving this year coming...
Geaux Tigers...

He looked like he panicked every time the ball came his way, then froze when he got it. I know the SEC is much faster and can be intimidating but he looked like a fish out of water. I want to believe it was something mental, but he never could shake whatever it was.
I hope he stays just for additional depth, and the chance that he figures it out. If we just get 1/4 of what he gave Tech as a WR, that would be fantastic. I would prefer to never see him back for a punt ever again.

NICHOLLS is only offering preferred walk on status.

I know he's still on the team and they are strict around here about bad mouthing players, so I'm not going to use the language I really want to. But the kid made me nervous every single time he caught a punt. Even on a fair catch.
And then there was the fumble in the Texas A&M game, which was crucial at that point, IIRC. He did at that time what I thought was going to happen EVERY TIME. I remember being so mad that I was seeing stars.

We may actually be praising him at the end of the year due to just clicking(football is funny) or he may get lost in the talent (or transfer)...

The only problem is Giles being awarded #7 with an unproven resume. Certainly a strike against the internal decision making process under Orgeron.

He averaged over 100 yards and a TD per game. That’s impressive no matter how much they throw the ball. I don’t think he was used to our system and couldn’t develop into an every down player here. And I’ll say their QB probably had something to do with it in Mahomes.

Yep we are doomed to failure. The Negatiger m...f...g way. Born to lose you suckers.

They missed on the evaluation along with everyone else. It happens. Move on. Normal people do. Negatiger chiite can't since they are born to lose.

Why do u think some leadership guys like Devin were chirping on Twitter about it. He just isn’t fast enough to beat Sec dbs. He could have been a quality possession wr but dropped balls consistent. He couldn’t get out of his own head. Now he’s got 6 ahead of him so I doubt he’s on the roster come September

He’s going to Texas Southern.
