To fix this damn OL and running game. That should be doable without contract issues. Arky fired him. They cannot throw a no compete clause in there.

Similar to the 2-3 times we brought Pete Jenkins in

Doesn't Arkansas owe him a little over 9 million? I doubt he's eager for another job

Not necessarily long term. He may want to decompress and he may want to stay engaged. Who the hell knows

Pittman as an OL analyst would be a massive upgrade. But with his buyout, I wonder how likely it would be.

No Sir.

Send Sylvester packing and get Pittman in here immediately as the new OL Coach!

Semjase was hoping that Pittman would get fired at R-Kansas after last season and be hired at LSU to be the AHC and OL Coach this season. (And I stated that scenario many times on here)

Better Late Than Never!

Get him in here, pay him what he wants and be done with it............

Imagine you're Sam Pittman. Youre 64 years old, you've coached every season for the last 22 years and 40 of the 41 years. Youve been fired mid season with 9 million dollars coming over the next 2 years.

Would you immediately jump back into an analyst/consultant gig?

He would essentially be working for free. Anything he is paid reduced Akry’s buyout to him in lock step. I am not sure he would want to come into this environment of a bad o-line, a coaching staff in turmoil and a fanbase that is outraged.

Arky negotiated his buyout down to 62% or about $6.5 mil or a little more than a yrs salary. If they negotiated the lower number then I would say it is unlikely he has any remaining restrictions left on him.

LSU could pay him to a $100k for film study and corrective action recommendations and wouldnt even have to leave home.

I am talking to a co worker right now about this. He says that according to Pittman, Arkansas was his last stop as a coach and that he would stay as long as Arkansas wanted him. Dude is a diehard Razorback fan and reads / watches all the stuff.

Coaches want to coach man. You don’t get to SEC head coach level looking to take breaks where you can.

Not happening, Kelly’s ego won’t allow it, He’ll probably go to Alabama and Georgia because there’s more talent.
