You can book that Muschamp and Dooley will be talking like crazy to little Nick about our team and tendencies...
I don't know which is more absurd - that Muschamp and Dooley would stop bailing out their respective sinking ships for one minute to pass along info to Little Nick, or that the Great One would think there is any tidbit of knowledge he could gain from talking to either of them as opposed to simply watching video of LSU.

I think he answered the question perfectly
People give Verne and Gary too much flak

so basically he is saying..because of the "passion of college football" some games he gets to be a gater hater and some days he is pro alabama?
GEEZ! listen to it again.Nothing he said is incorrect.
You just can't handle the truth.

All he says is that he does not feel he is biased. He can understand it if fans of one team or the other think he is. He does not really care, and he thinks Richardson is a better back than Ware; which is probably true. Oh...and the PAC 12 sucks.

I like GD.. dude is smart.
Knows the game.

GD is actually my favorite commentator. He says what he thinks, he's honest, he knows the game, and he doesn't really care if he hurts our feelings by not swooning over the Tigers like we do.
GEAUX GARY!

I really hope nobody has a problem with his comments. he gave SEC fans props and hated on the PAC12.
all you pansies who get your panties is a wad over herbstreit, danielson, ect., need to grow up.
espn hats lsu, cbs hates lsu
yeah, they hate us so much we are going to play on their network (CBS) 5 times this year
oh yeah, I forgot the SECCG (6 times)

The dude doesn't hold back. It's refreshing to get a straight observation. I do miss the ESPN night game crew. The way the games are produced is completely different.

i dont mind Gary saying Ware isnt in Trent Richardson's category. Because he is not.
but how about a commentator that can get facts about LSU's team right?
at one point he said all of our safeties were converted corner backs, and that all our LBs were converted safeties, including Ryan Baker. Who the frick tells him this stuff?
there were also 2 or 3 other inaccuracies, i just forget what they are at this point.

I think he does a very good job. He calls it like he see's it. He will not get everyone to agree. That is good.

If I was Danielson, I would have said, As an announcer my job is to make the game interesting. With LSU completely dominating the game, I felt I needed to allow the viewers on TV to feel like Florida had a chance. Also LSU was doing all of the hyping they needed on the field.
I still think Florida is a quality football team, but there isn't but 2 or 3 teams in the nation that could have made those games competitive throughout an entire season much less back to back weeks.
The one item I didn't mention, that I wanted to work in throughout the game was Alfred Blue's family home burnt down this week.
I think LSU is a fine football program and I look forward to following them later this year. I have already started doing my homework for the Alabama game.

For what it's worth, I think GD is a far better as a commentator than he was as a QB.

Slurring like a motherfricker. Was he drunk or what??
Posted on 10/10/11 at 11:48 am to BRFanNo1
don't disagree with Gary on this at all. I think the problem is there is to much precedent on announcers having to talk about stories and what not in the game to help pass the time.

I think that Danielson does a very good calling SEC games.

Just watched another one of those "5th quarter" segments (I have never seen those until now) and the other host pointed out that...
In Alabama's last 4 SEC losses, the winning team passed the ball between 20-22 times. He said that is exactly the type of game that LSU plays and that they may be "on paper" the perfect team to go against Alabama.

I have a lot of respect for Gary Danielson. He is the best in the business. Extremely on point, very professional. He is very, very astute. He actually amazes me with what he rememembers and what he picks up on. Besides how could you not like him after hearing what he says about the PAC 10 there at the end? I was
