I liked his effort and he was a great defensive player, but he remained a poor shooter this year shooting 25% from 3 and 39% from the field (he was even worse last year, so he did improve). And he did improve his free throw shooting a lot though this year. It would have been nice to have him as a 4-year player, but his offensive decisions were still pretty bad.
I wish we could get Jalen Cook to transfer back. He is a legit player and really talented on offense shooting and driving. He had a great year at Tulane.

McMahon doesn’t have the luxury of having been able to recruit these kids over months, or years. Will Wade is why they came here - perhaps his persona AND cash lured them.
These guys are essentially unaffiliated with LSU as far as I’m concerned. Once they get into the portal every coach has a shot - and many recruited these guys before they committed to LSU. So McMahon is swimming against the tide.
Best we can do as fans is support the team, with expectations that they’re going to be well coached, of strong character and initially not a top-half SEC team for at least a couple years.
Canceling season tickets and staying home isn’t going to help the situation, instead it’s going to slow down the return to success. McMahon has put his arse on the line for LSU when he had other options. He needs support and a full arena to convince kids in 2023 and beyond to come to LSU.
It absolutely sucks seeing what kind of team we had on paper for next season. Especially when those guys are signing at schools like Auburn. But that’s done. Nothing we can do about it.
All you have to do is look at the love and respect McMahon’s former president layers have shown him since he left Murray. Once he has the time to develop relationships and get the lay of the land I’m confident we’ll be more than happy he’s LSU’s coach.
I loved Wade, but that’s a done deal. I love LSU basketball more than Wade, though. So I’m not going to let the disappointment with what happened, how it was or wasn’t handled, etc. linger to the level that it hurts the new coaches and players.
