I'm sure he didn't expect his alma mater and hometown school to come calling this soon.

If they’ve(LSU BoS) already got someone lined up, and are announcing this week, I have a bad feeling it’s not Woodward.

ETA: Really really want it to be SW, but with it seeming rushed, makes me think it’s not him. Do we really think FKing and the board could push Alleva out and convince Woodward to come home, all without any rumors?

That's a very respectable statement that should be made by anyone that's worth a damn in the working world. However, money makes one change one's mind in a milli(ons) second if the right offer and situation comes about.

No surprise, there. Don't expect Dan Radakovich to jump either.

It's not that recent, it's from August of last year.

As Bear Bryant once said, "When you hear Momma callin'.....you go home."

Certainly...that was a bit back as well. I just wonder how he views the uncertainty of who he will be working for in Baton Rouge as to the President, Governor, etc. Its a lot to think about. Of course he also hets to not live in College Station and THAT is HUGE.

They all say that. It would have pretty been awkward if he told Texas A&M he was using them as stepping stone to a better job.

There are very damn few people in college athletics that are open about not wanting to stay where they are. Almost everyone uses some version of the "in it for the long haul" line when asked.

I can think of one person recently - Fred Hoiberg when he came to IS someone asked him about the long term and he openly said something along the lines that his dream is to coach against the best and the best coaches are in the NBA. He went to Chicago after 4 or 5 years at ISU.

Most though say something along this line.
