I fell in love with LSU football as a 90’s kid and would have as well.

But this ain’t the 90’s.

Is 90's LSU and 2018 LSU even remotely comparable as a program?

Nah

Prepare for them to run the course in their conference and finish 10-3/9-4 or something like that. FYI and FWIW

Wasn't FAU also 3-3 last year? They ended up winning 11 games. Weird thread.

Dude shut up with the children shite. God almighty. By the way most of us saw LSU in the 90’s. You are surrounded by posters who watched LSU football during that time and have a different opinion than you. It is shite show to be a elite program hiring a low tier coach. And the jury’s still out on whether it will work or blow up in our faces.

Kiffin has taken over a team that won 3 games in b2b season prior to him, I believe?

I'm not even going to look it up.. I just know it was a horrendous program. He's actually had to rebuild..

2 of the 3 losses this season are to teams well out of of their league.. I'm not sure O at LSU would be 2 of those 3 losses.

I am very 50/50 with Kiffin. Ultimately, I think I'd prefer someone else.

I really wouldn't mind Freeze, but people won't like that.

I'd love to see what O would do taking over a 3 win program like FAU.. oh wait we did, Ole Miss.

LSU, when established, is a wonderful opportunity for even a slightly above average coach. Look at the success Miles had coming into an already established LSU program that still had 3 losses prior to him. He was an avg to above average coach at Okie St, and he came to LSU and immediately won 11 games year one, 11 games year two, and 12 games including a championship in only his third season.

It's so ridiculous when I see people say look how bad a coach is doing elsewhere.. we dodged a bullet.. Has nothing to do with what they could have done here.. a place that isn't even a rebuild.

LSU should be on the same level of success as Georgia is. See how quickly they turned it around? That's exactly where LSU should be. Not losing to Troy and losing to a Franks-lead Florida team.. and getting worked by Miss St, a team you have owned forever.

What?? Did you just start watching LSU football again? We’ve won championships. That’s called setting a standard.

As much as I don't like him I would be OK with it knowing he would probably only be here for 3 yrs max. It would be great for recruiting QB's and would broaden the playbook with Pro-style offense to spread to RPO.

I don't think this happens. He is going to try and do what Herman and Sumlin did at small schools. Put together some good teams and win their Conference and pull off the occassional upset and wait for the high end program to come knocking. He is going to have to prove himself as a HC at a small program before another big program comes knocking.

To be fair, they were barely winning 2 games before Les.

So imo, Les showed he could turn a program around with less resources than some around him.
