According to coaching search Frank is a,finalist for the Tulane job along with Oklahoma st offensive coordinator and kendal briles.

I'm always surprised when people are interested in that job. Lately the Tulane head coach job seems like kind of a graveyard for head coaches. Hope springs eternal I guess.

I hope for the best fir Frank, but part of me wonders if that job would be career suicide that would prevent him from ever getting another legit opportunity to move up the ranks.
The school and fanbase don't care about football. They wouldn't even support their GOAT team in 98.
It's tough to win in an environment like that.

If he could somehow get those New Orleans kids qualified he would ball.

You think the program is bad now( which it is). Let Frank get this job

He would have to succeed there like Mack Brown and Tommy Bowden for it NOT to be a career suicide.
It looks good on paper, just like the Curtis Johnson hire did; I just think it's too much of a gamble for him.

No he isn't.
Nola.com said he was one of 3 candidates looking at the job and somehow that got interpreted to "finalist".

Coaching search.com is saying Finalist

Which they took from the Nola story.

Despite Frank's recruiting connections in NOLA, the academic standard--which Tulane will not budge from for atheletes--will negate FW's one great strength.
And with him never having been a coordinator, this will be Curtis Johnson, The Sequel.
Getting Yurcich from OKST or Briles from Baylor--either would be a homerun hire for Tulane. I know the head coaches there are considered the masterminds behind their video game offenses, but the HC ability is bound to have rubbed off.
Whether they can succeed on St. Charles Avenue with all the built-in disadvantages is another story, but either OC would be a helluva good hire for Tulane.
Wilson is a great recruiter at a program like LSU. But for a head coach, Yurcich's and Briles's offensive credentials would make them a better attraction at Tulane than Wilson, despite FW's NOLA connections.

... Tulane - where coaches go to fade into obscurity and irrelevance

I hope he gets it. He has never been a HC in college. Can be easily replaced and he can thank LF for the job.

We seemed to be doing fine before Frank.

Young boys love frank, every good baller knows him he definitely has nola in his hands. LSU should want to keep him around.
