Running the forty is the most overrated combine workout they do. It in no way represents how a player is on the field during a game

They should all run the 40 in full pads anyway

It's actually not overrated at all if you realize the context of it

So which one of the workouts is accurate to you? Surely not the bench press or shuttle run.

Let these guys know they are all wasting their time

It would not surprise me if LF7 weighs less than 240lbs today. It is good strategy to weigh in heavy, then cut some for the next 24 hours, get lighter, run faster.
4.51 is very impressive for his size!

Agreed. That's what more than a few teams of interest were waiting for....so f'ing fast for a guy his size.

If only they could watch film for that
And you realize that they also can take the 40 and break it into increments?
Crazy

People have heard 4.4 in their heads so much when they hear about "fast" that they think 4.55. is slow.
A 230+ man running 4.51 might not be unheard of, but it is damned fricking fast.

Cook did not look blazing fast to me.

Vert and broad jump are actually much better measures of football athleticism than the 40.
The Wunderlic is important only for some positions
