Damn RIP

College baseball lost a legend

Seems like just yesterday LSU fans in left field were chanting DUI at Augie before the championship series in 09.

Yep. He and Skip were honored at a banquet at L'Auberge the night before the first game with Notre Dame.

Auggie and Skip threw out the first pitch for one of the ND games.

ETA: Corrected to say it was before a game with Texas, not Notre Dame.

I can't speak for the L'Auberge thing but they definitely threw out the first pitch for the Texas game. Not Notre Dame

Jesus, he looks better than Skip there. Not that it matters with a stroke case.

Yeah we were both wrong. I was thinking Texas was the first series but it wasn't. He was here for the Texas series.

Sad to hear this, what a legend in the college baseball world.
Was glad to see him & Skip together for the Texas series, that was awesome.

RIP Coach!! What a great coach and man! Had the pleasure of meeting him 7 years ago! Came away with a feeling of amazement. To his family, my condolences and Hook'em!

An old assistant coach of mine in juco played on Augie's 84 (I believe) CSF world series champ team. He said Augie was cool as they came in SoCal back then.
