Wasn’t Cregg really good with developing but kinda sucked with recruiting?

He was fired for breaking recruiting rules

Awesome, he is a good guy. Had a few beers with him taught me a lot about offense line. He was fired because our Dickhead AD wanted to get rid of Coach O, and that was his last coach from 19 team. It was a minor recruiting violation that Clemson reported because they were recruiting the same player

Guessing as an analyst?

He’s an Assistant OL coach right now. Maybe the same at LSU?

I have a feeling that this is just in case Wolford isn’t able to get in done, Lane will just pivot to Cregg. If that isn’t the case, we still have two very experienced Offensive line coaches in the building.

Agreed. His time spent in the league with the 49’ers after his LSU tenure should help pay some dividends for sure.

Seeing a lot of what feels like revisionist history in this thread similar to Pelini 2.0. I remember during round one at LSU most people very vocal about wanting Cregg gone because of his zone blocking philosophy.

I guess if he's only serving as an analyst, though, it doesn't matter.

Lanes offense are always good and he’s going to have his input on scheme so I really care about developing technique. I’m not going to question any Lane offensive hire off the bat.

This. Is. A. Grand. Slam.

He doesnt recruit well, but LSU apparently has an emergency brinks truck on standby at all times now so it doesnt matter

That judgement for him was appealed and ruled in LSU favor and this appeal victory was subsequently upheld by the La Supreme Court.

Yep. You can always tell who listens to Moscona since he is always saying Cregg “won.” I’m not sure Moscona even knows it was appealed.

Not sure if this was the same issue, but I seem to remember OT Tristan Leigh secretly signing with Clemson, not telling LSU, LSU continuing to recruit him, then either he or Clemson reporting LSU to the NCAA for illegal contact with a recruit.

Complete BS but on brand for Dabo. He's a snake and a phony.

I didn't realize Cregg was the OL coach for Kiffin at Tenn and USC and was his assistant OL coach at the Raiders.

Decent coach bad recruiter. The reverse Brad Davis.
Brad Davis didn't recruit jack shite to LSU; just a collection of 4-5 star "Kardell Thomas" types that physically dominated in high school, but were physically and mentally overmatched and "in way over their Heads" at LSU/SEC. Theyre all running scared now and are getting the hell out of Dodge. They want no part of the new "Hard arse" OL coaches that will make them work and actually learn some technique. Good to see Cregg back with Wolford. (Yall know he WON his lawsuit against LSU for "Wrongful Termination")

I’m glad we have someone else besides Wolford working with the OL.

It’s pretty weird. So is the timing (see OL portal entries).

I trust Kiffin, but if you’d have told me LSU was going to hire Cregg & Wolford — I’d have assumed Cregg as assistant + Wolford as analyst, not the other way around.
