LSU fans, on the other hand, are pissed at Saban even though he didn't leave for another college HC job, AND even though LSU's HC job wasn't even available when he came back to the college game. Talk about mouth-breathing juveniles.

Dude I’ve been saying this since Saban left. Never understood why LSU fans hate the guy. They act like he left us and went straight to Bama.

Incorrect. Saban left a dynasty in the making he created for a crappy NFL franchise to feed his ego and make a lot more money. Not to mention his wife had “other reasons” for wanting to get out of town. He didn’t leave LSU for the Gumps. Do you even watch sports?

Meanwhile, 15 years later, we still haven’t gotten over Saban, but we’re somehow better than ND fans, and they have no right to hold a grudge?

Saban is the greatest of all time.

The only other Southerner who has coached at LSU since at least before Dietzel, was McClendon who was a native of Arkansas.

Curly was a true southerner that promoted Golden Flake chips while here. I think his LSU tenure supports your argument.

How can you say he shouldn't have started when he won so much? Whatever you say man.

Because he very butt hurt and just talking out of his arse.

Just like all these ND fans who say they wanted to get rid of the winningest coach in ND history. That’s BS and we know it. Just look at what ND replaced BK with. Lol.

And after they disagree with sour grapes, they then come back around and ask why ND is a top 5 team and sour grapes with responds with “recent success, they have gone 54-10 in the last 6 seasons.”

He says this right after shitting on the coach who ran the program the last 5 years?

Why couldn't ND find a good replacement in 5 years? Forget about Kelly, that's the question I'd be asking if I were you.

Listened to Jordy this morning, berating Driskell for calling LSU a dumpster fire, Then Jordy agreed with driskell, dumpster fire under Orgeron.

Record the last 5 years:
2017: 10-3, beat LSU in Citrus Bowl

2018: 12-1, lost to Clemson in CFP Semis

2019: 11-2, beat Iowa State in Camping World Bowl

2020: 10-2, lost to Bama in CFP Semis

2021: 11-2, lost to Oklahoma State in Fiesta with Marcus Freeman as HC, with Kelly’s exact same fricking staff. AND had a whole month to prep for the game …

You’re full of some kind of shite that you think ND would be actively trying to part ways with a guy who went 54-10 in the last 5 years. Asshat.

Alabama fans call for Saban’s head on the SEC rant every time they play poorly.

Oh come on. That is almost every fanbase with some of those types.

Hell, you know part of the Rant will be bitching about the mistake CBK was the first time the team struggles.

ND is to be worshipped. After all, and has Touchdown Jesus. Insult to injury is to go to lowly SEC and 50th of 50 state like Louisiana, of all places.

Rudy shudders.

No disagreement here. And he will win games at LSU no doubt, but he's the guy to lay a foundation not the guy to get a title.

No this is fact.

Kelly and Notre Dame were both trying to get out for years. Kelly flirted with the NFL almost every year but couldn't get hired. Notre Dame didn't have better options that were going to get Notre Dame hire than that second tier not elite level that Kelly got too. ND wasnt going to take the optics hit to fire a successful coach and Kelly didn't want to take a lesser job. They were stuck. Add to that that Kelly would ask for a raise every year after doing the same thing and never beating a top 10 school. ND was stuck working it out with him and he was stuck because the NFL window closed on him. Driskell alludes to this when he says he was done with Kelly in 2020. The last three years prior Kelly came to the ad with his hand out, while he ran off top assistants and wasn't active in recruiting. Prior to his last year at ND the ad told him no more raises unless he wins a playoff game. He got butt hurt and told his agent it was time to move.

Kelly is very good at prep and will put talent the teams that LSU out recruits. I do not think his game planning or lack of adjustments will help vs top Alabama, a&m, Georgia etc....

He thinks ND had the talent to win the National Championship but couldn't get it done because Kelly couldn't get them up for big games. That is totally delusional.

Ed O was a guy who could do neither at Ole Miss. 10-25 overall with the Rebels. 3-21 in SEC play yet he managed to go 15-0 & win a title here. Kelly>>>>>>>>O

It’s easy to take a running car and drive it. We’ll see what happens when it needs to be fixed, that’s what separates good head coaches from bad ones.
