Did he kill himself because of all the trouble he’s in? He must have known he was probably going to jail and had ruined his life. Such a damn shame for him and the other guy who lost his life in that wreck.
Either way this is tragic and back to back blows for me this weekend. God, help that family through it, and mine's for our loss too.

Sorry for both of your losses

He probably had alot of feelings, sadness, frustration, anger at himself, confusion, shock all the things you think about when something major happens and it wasn't planned.
You left out guilt. When someone has done something and feel accountable for it, guilt is the emotion that usually triggers this type of response. Gulf leads to hopelessness. Hopelessness leads to actions that makes one checkout because they don’t see a way out. The rest of what you posted are selfish emotions and not those of remorse. Sadness for self? Frustration because it won’t go away? Anger at himself? Major things go wrong all the time in the lives of good people and they find a way to move on. Loss of job. Loss of children to cancer. Loss of parents. His situation was likely different because he took another’s life and fled. He got caught. Standing up and admitting he was wrong would have been better than taking his own life, don’t you agree?

I don’t consider suicide as having “lost” your life.

quote:A Louisiana State Police document contains the following allegations about the incident: As Lacy was illegally passing the other vehicles, the driver of a northbound pickup truck abruptly braked and swerved to the right to avoid a head-on collision with the approaching Dodge. Traveling behind the pickup was a 2017 Kia Cadenza whose driver swerved left to avoid the on coming Dodge Charger. As the Kia Cadenza took evasive action to avoid impact with the Dodge, it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a southbound 2017 Kia Sorento. Following the crash, Lacy drove around the crash scene and fled south on LA Hwy 20 without stopping to render aid, call emergency services, or report his involvement in the crash.
allegedly negligent homicide + felony hit and run

It is definitely a bad situation but I don’t consider what he did a mistake. I guess you can tell the family of the person he killed that it was a mistake. Felony hit and run is not a mistake. He knew what he was doing
The facts of the scenario aren't a typical vehicular/negligent homicide or hit and run.
He made a big mistake and someone died
The theory was somewhat novel and may not have even worked at trial

Does kyren lacy strike you as a person that would be drawn to a message board full of middle aged white dudes?

Man what an awful story

WBRZ reporting the case was set to go before grand jury Monday. WBRZ

Naw dude. The draft is in a few weeks. The timing can't be a coincidence.
That was probably a huge part of it but with the hearing tomorrow I'll bet someone advised him he was going to be arrested and denied bail. KY then made the conscious choice that he wasnt going to go to jail.
I'm not as emotional about suicide as most of humanity. He's a grown man who made a decision. Its not a situation where he was sad because his high school girlfriend broke up with him. His life has been turned upside down (for obvious reasons) and he chose to check out. Its not a choice that I would have made but I respect his decision.

LSU tragedies tend to bring out the worst in this message board. Prayers to everyone involved in the situation.

Did you know Kyren or the car wreck victim on a personal level? Hang in there, man

He didn't "lose his life". He made a decision. Do you think Lacy wants to be remembered as some kind of victim?
Posted on 4/13/25 at 9:42 am to Enfuego
Wow.
Feel so bad for his family
Feel so bad for his family

Don’t really see the relevance here. Lacy should not have lost his life over it. Sad situation all the way
The relevance is that his nfl dreams were done and he was probably going to jail even with the best of lawyers by his side in court..He didn't lose his life because of these facts..He TOOK his life because of these facts...Big difference and very relevant.
He got out of his pain and left dozens around him dealing with the pain he left behind for the rest of their lives. Tragic situation.

He’d already been charged and bonded out on a $151k bond. They don’t revoke your bond if the GJ finds probable cause for the charges
