I was never a fan of his as a player but this is really good news for him and I'm happy for the guy.

These are the same fans who cried because one of Marcus Randall's players isn't coming to LSU. I wonder where ex-players could develop a distaste for LSU from.
When you really think about it, it makes sense for big recruits to leave LA. The pressure our fanbase makes it unbearable. At least if you go somewhere else and dont perform well, you can come back home and escape from it. JJ is a local south La guy, who is now hated and ridiculed in his own state.

He had a less than stellar on field performance
Meh. Dude gets a bad rap. If it wasn't for him coming in for "Deer in Headlights" Lee we would have lost the SEC West to Bama in 2011.

JJ gets a bad rap from too many here. He wasn't great, he wasn't awful. Like Lee, he had his good and bad moments.

Sad when people can still tear down a guy when something good happens. Some of our fans are miserable and need something bitch about somewhere.

Congratulations JJ.

well, in fairness it was Spencer Ware's fault as evidenced by JJ's expression.

Jordan Jefferson is a really good dude that takes way to much flack from LSU fans. Blame the coaches for playing a guy who may not have been the best option at QB if you're still bitter. All that guy did was give 4 years of himself to our program and some people make him out to be a villain. Grow up and be happy for a former Tiger. Congrats on getting your foot in the door at the college level JJ!

Exactly. He wasn't a NFL QB, but he damn sure didn't get on the field in the SEC because he wasn't trying. He gave a lot to the program and received more criticism and sometimes outright hate than I could even imagine. Good for him for continuing to chase success and a career he hopefully enjoys. From all of LSU nation, !

You HAVE to have been good at football in order to teach others how to be good at it, right? Man, I remember how great guys like Saban, Meyer, Franklin, Herman, Fisher, Briles, etc. were in college...

Some of y'all are so full of shite.

Good for him. My son was 10 to 12 years old when he played. He was always very nice and gracious when my son wanted autographs and pics after games.

Good for him.

We know that on many occasions, successful coaches were not the best or most successful players, so who knows how effective he will be?

Just have to wait and see.

Top 6 in every major passing statistics in lsu history.
6th best completion % in lsu history
2 seasons with a qb rating better than flynn in 2007
His 2009 season was one of the 11 best passing seasons in lsu history.
His 2009 season was top 5 in the sec in qb rating.
He is the single season and career qb rusing record holder.

Not the majority of the fanbase. You have a minority that feel the need to crap over anything or anyone that doesn't meet up to their pitiful standards. And they're so vocal about it, that it makes the rest look bad. There's something about the saying: "a few bad apples . . ."

Good for him, I wasn't the biggest fan of his attitude (but I was probably a prick at 18-20 too so that's understandable) but I never doubted he gave 100% on the field. It wasn't enough, obviously, but you can't ask for more than 100%.

College Football is for entertainment, I'm not going to let poor entertainment poison my outlook for a young man's life.

I wish him well and genuinely hope he does do well.
