Correct. We will now play one gap responsibility and attack. Shoot gaps. Can’t wait.

I just don’t think he was very good at LSU. Much like Danielle Hunter the physical skills were there but they were young and raw and probably under coached. Shelvin has skills and physical body to be a wrecking force inside no matter what

True. There was a sheriff's deputy coaching d line then Brick Haley.

I'd imagine O wanted to kick puppies every time he saw a guy like Chassion drop back in coverage.
that's dumb. de's in 4-3 are known to drop back too. It's a staple of zone blitz. Did you watch us beat Oklahoma in the championship under Saban?

Yeah, I think O kept it under wraps, but him saying at the start of the year they were going to be a more aggressive defense this year was his way of outwardly showing he didn't care for Aranda's approach/philosophy (especially with the d-linemen).

Actually, they were ranked 3rd, 3rd, and 3rd in total defense. They were ranked lower in scoring defense over time and yards per play.

I think it will be a refreshing start for Pelini after having had all the worries of a head coach for the last 13/14 years.

I think he'll do an awesome job for us, not everyone is cut out to be a hc, and most are hired too quickly because of a good run as an assistant, I don't care one way or another but I think Aranda will fall into that category

Pelini is a head case.
Likely a great first year and then it will start fading.

What’s the deal with people being so harsh and negative towards people that don’t always agree with a hire? Is this what modern day fandom looks like? It’s almost like a dictatorship and if you dissent you get blackballed. I really don’t get it. So what if everyone doesn’t like the hire. It is what it is.

Plus look at the athletes we have here now comparing to 2006/7

Those 06/07 defenses were fricking loaded with talent especially on the D-Line. Seriously, the D-line of the 06/07 defense was better than an all decade team of the 2010's and I am not exaggerating.

I don’t know if it’s recency bias or what hearing people say this, but our 06-07 D was filthy.

No. It’s delusional posters who ignore the facts and stats and want to stay embarrassingly football ignorant. I’ve posted many times the issues with the haters. Either football ignorant. Too young and dumb. Or SJW who want a sweet guy and can’t handle pelini telling it like it was at Nebraska.

Danielle Hunter

Hunter was tough physical player at LSU. He was great against the run and a ton of plays in the backfield. His sack numbers were low due to coaching and scheme.

I just remember some of the best defensive line play I’ve ever seen came when Bo was the DC.

And honestly that’s been a big issue under Aranda. Great LBs and great secondary but subpar d line

Let’s give Bo a chance. I think LSU’s defense plays with their hair on fire next season.

I agree with this. Plus it’s his chance to get past all the stuff that happened at Nebraska. It could be his last shot..
