There is a structural change occurring and it is going to take a different type of coaching to be able to "nudge" the kids that play football these days. The change is like a new technology that some coaches can't or won't want to learn. There's so much money at stake so there will be a lot of moving in and out of coordinators, but the head coach will be given some time because no one knows who will be able to adjust and the settlements haven't even hit, yet.

Ed shot himself in the foot a couple times on coordinator hires which was a sign of him giving up. He put no energy in to them.

Ed is an idiot who never had any business being in charge of a major college football program. No coordinator worth his salt wanted to work for him. When Ensminger and Aranda left it was game over.

It was not a mistake to fire Ed. It was a mistake to replace him with Kelly under such a ridiculous contract. Both can be true.

Yall forget how bad LSU’s offense looked during O’s tenure without Joe Brady running it. O was a great recruiter and motivator, but without elite coordinators he wasn’t good at all. Its like yall forgot that Bama beat us 29-0 in BR in 2018

Outside of 2019, O never had a regular season better than 9-3 and then once he lost Brady and Aranda, a pair of .500 seasons before he got fired.

If people thought O was a good head coach, why hasn’t his name even come up as a candidate for openings elsewhere in the past 3 years?

before and after Joe Burrow, O was 26-17.

We had a garbage can offense in 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2021

only kn 2020 and 2021 we don’t have a defense to prop up said garbage can offense.

the team was falling apart 2 years after a NC

Yes they can but I was not weighing in on BK just yet. He can still pull the fat out of the fire by keeping this class together, putting a Heisman contending QB on the field, and rebuilding the Defense.

This team this year was just playing with smoke and mirrors...

It's palpable and the sport has changed for the worse that's why Saban packed it up and left on a high note.

i do think this class if closed out on has the elements to fix our issues.

Elite WB
Elite RB
Elite CB’s
Elite OL
We need to finish strong and get Stewart and this class has everything you could ask for and everything this team needs except maybe a 5 star safetyZ

I went to a concert last night and really enjoyed it. Came home and zipped through the game on DVR. Thank goodness I didn't stay home to watch it live and miss a great show.

Once you stop letting it bother you it’s much more fun. Get fired up when they win and just don’t care and move on during or right after the game

We would have all loved to see Coach O lead LSU for a long time but he had lost the team and lost the motivation to coach. Sad situation all around…

I'm shocked no one remembers how bad things were. I remember Miles running the same QB block plays with Jordan Jefferson that he used with Jamarcus Russell - only Jamarcus was 6 foot 7 and 300 lbs and Jefferson... wasn't. Jordan would get stomped

You will never convince me that Woody didn't hire Pellini to grease the skids to get rid of Orgeron. The defense made the same errors game after game. A national championship defensive HC doesn't forget how to coach defense.
After a year they paid him his contract and the fix was in. IMO

When asked about his hiring Pellini, by the Press, Orgeron replied, I didn't interview him. ????

Sooo believe what you like.

It was time for O to go but it’s looking like Kelly was the wrong hire to replace him.

At the end of the day, LSU is just a school for kids. The LSU Football team is a semi-professional football club that pays its players. The players are also kids, so, they aren't going to be as dedicated to the Purple and Gold as much as they will be devoted to the NIL money.

This rewriting of his resume is stupid. This constant need to pretend that he’s never had success is tired. He won at Cincinnati and he won at ND. BK was the most qualified football coach LSU has ever hired.

He’s not getting it done, for whatever reason. The team is not good. But on paper, he was a good hire and that’s all an AD can do. Hire the best available coach.
