Hitting .352
More total bases than Morgan and Thompson
More total bases than Kling and Neal combined
More walks than Tommy White
More homeruns than Jobert and Beloso combined
1 of every 3 of his hits is a home run
4th on team in slugging
0 Errors on the season

Sure he strikes out but everyone is getting out just as often.

He has a good BA and a good OB%

He gets out about as much as other players (or less ofte) he just SO more often than he GO or FO

And he's a freshman. The thought of what he could look like in 2 years is frightening.

For those that are, it’s ridiculous. He’s a 6’4” 230lb power hitting freshman that’s learning the pitching at this level. Strike outs are to be expected. Anyone that thinks otherwise is naive.

It would be different if he was batting .120 and lost every at bat.

There’s a decent chance in two years he’s starting his first full season in the minors. He’s draft eligible next year.

Bear Jones is a biggly instrumental part of this teams success. Imagine having a massive double digit home true freshman that plays great first base on all the Paul teams that failed in post season play. He might be the biggest X factor we have.

When he hits one 480ft in game three. They will understand why he is in the lineup lol

I saw him go opposite field for a hit today. I think the lineup is better with Jones in than out.

Every time he walks up the plate, he has a:

43% chance to get on base (0.435 obp)
41% chance to strike out (38 so, 91 ab)
35% chance to get a hit (32 h, 91 ab)
16% chance to get a walk (15 bb, 91 ab)
10% chance to hit a homer (9 hr, 91 ab)

And honestly, a SO is usually not worse than a GO and not always worse than a FO

Maybe sometimes you fail to advance the runner but you also don’t hit into double plays.

But also he has some SH. So it’s not like he’s been completely unable to put the ball in the air when there is a guy on 3rd.

Yep I think as he gets more experience his at bats will be more challenging to pitchers as a tough out.
