Just how College Football is now. It sucks but it is what it is. Its no shock that the best QBs we have had have been transfers and 5th year players who worked their tale off. We don't get those type of QB prospects to campus often. Everyone was in love with Walker Howard and he transferred out and is now the 3rd string QB at Ole Miss. So he most likely wouldn't have panned out here either. So I am actually glad we didn't break the bank to get him here cause odds are he is probably not going to live up to the hype.

I'm done with allegedly what happened. Move on, and everyone needs to quit falling on swords. One player doesn't win games. I recall, many years ago, Mitch Mustain was the greatest thing to come out of high school going to Arkansas. How'd that work? Is he the head burger technician at Wendy's?

Why would BU want to be a part of Moore/Campbell offense?
He wants to go to UM for money and branding. It’s his home team. Why is this hard for y’all to understand? What does LSU offer him? We aren’t winning, we won’t pay him, and the offense is trash. He probably chose to come here in the first place because we were the hot/trendy brand at the time. We aren’t that anymore

Maybe not directly, but you were definitely alluding to it.
No I was alluding to the fact that there are no reasons for him to come to lsu. Hard pill for y’all to swallow but it’s true. UM has the money and he’ll be branded as the hometown kid who stayed. LSU is trending so far down in the public’s eye. You really think Underwood isn’t watching the games? Or paying attention to the way BK runs this program? I don’t blame him at all for running. It’s not the least bit surprising.

But y’all are going to pretend it’s all about the money and we are just unlucky and unfortunate to not get the best recruit in the country. Why would the #1 recruit want to come here??? Not a single person can answer this without giving a dumbass homer answer.
He was committed to lsu for over a yr and had shut things down
If portnoy doesn't put that video out about wanting a qb I think Underwood sticks with lsu.
It's not like he was taking visits and talking with all these other schools.

Irrelevant because Michigan and Moore look worse than LSU, this season, and maybe even going forward (other than the money).
Michigan had the can't refuse offer of money that LSU rightfully wouldn't match. Everything else is just noise.

and yet he posted a "Commited" pic to social media just weeks ago...hmmmm
Wouldnt that be a negotiation tactic. As well as getting the LSU NIL offer in writing, so that Portnoy could read over it, before his final offer?

He was committed to us because we just had two QBs win heismans, LSU has been one of the most trendy brands since 2019 regardless of results on the field. We are now trending in a negative direction so he left. Hell he might leave Michigan after his first year. That’s the nature of cfb.

Larry Ellison spent a lot of money to get Jolin to toss his 80-year-old salad...

Larry paying Bryce 12 million dollars is akin to a Millionaire spending 50 dollars. There's plenty to criticize BK about, but there was nothing that could've gotten this done.
Haven’t heard about Graves offering shite. Things could’ve been closer

It’s not irrelevant. Michigan is paying him and is the hometown team. Those are reasons he’s willing to look past this year’s results. He has no reason to look past our results. Its very simple.

Maybe he will lose to the Tigers in a big game.

Yes, that is the relevant part.
LSU's offense is the irrelevant part. How LSU has looked this year played no part in Underwood's decision, IMO.

The young man lives 30 minutes away from Ann Arbor, it took Tom Brady and a big bag of money to sway him to Michigan… that’s saying how bad Michigan really is and how desperate they are. If there’s not a team around him it really doesn’t matter how good he is. Case in point Joe Burrow and the Bengals.

So.. do you think that if LSU were a little better this year and were sitting at 9-2 or 10-1, Underwood would have turned down the $12 million from Michigan?

Please show me all the support for the 12 million being paid to underwood can be supported as ordinary business expense. That’s ludicrous and any CPA crazy enough to try and claim that won’t be in business for long
Do you know the details & requirements for Underwood in his contract? No. He already has a site set up to sell merchandise & is doing a merchandise signing event on Friday with Barstool.
Bryce Underwood Merchandise Site
quote:
Barstool Sports founder and owner Dave Portnoy announced a collab with Michigan QB commit Bryce Underwood for Black Friday. He was scarce on the details, but the most popular Wolverines recruit is about to get more popular.
“Black Friday, we have a Bryce Underwood-Barstool collab coming out in the store with him, proceeds going to Bryce Underwood. so be on the lookout for that,” Portnoy said on the Barstool College Football Show.

To truly be able to claim million for his expense he would need to be working for the payers company in a normal way to support that pay in order to deduct it. You can’t just make beleive the millions paid to underwood is normal and deduct it
And here is where either your stupidity or lack of knowledge about NIL shows. These NIL deals aren't simply cash payments for athletes to play sports. That narrative is utterly false. The players have requirements & obligations off the field in order to collect their weekly to monthly payments from the collectives. Obligations such as autograph signings, commercial shoots, meet & greets & event hosting. All which are items the employer can write off based on previous post.
quote:
Taxpayers who own businesses can support student-athletes while saving on their taxes by making payments or providing property directly to the athlete. For example, a local business that pays an athlete to speak or appear can most likely deduct the cost as an ordinary and necessary business expense. Similarly, the business can deduct the cost of a product it lets an athlete use for free as an advertising expense.
For fans who own businesses, directly supporting athletes may offer more control over how they support the student than donating to non-tax-exempt NIL collectives—and save them money on their taxes.

Portnoy never offered a dime until Underwood told CBS that he was hurt that Mich had looked elsewhere, than guys right there at home
Yet Underwood didn't make that quote until September & he had been committed to LSU since January 6th. It took take time to repair the damage that had been done by Jim Harbaugh. It would have also taken time to get information on the LSU NIL contract in order to get the incentive details well beyond the Tigers offer. People are mistaking the Michigan NIL collective working behind the scenes as the actual timeline for Bryce's flip when he didn't actually flip until he had Michigan's NIL contract in writing while reviewing & comparing it to LSU NIL contract. This long con theory is nonsense.
quote:
When Michigan’s offer was reviewed by the Underwoods and their attorneys on Thursday, the final yes was given to the staff in Ann Arbor. Back in Baton Rouge, the Tigers learned of the flip when ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news on live television. Soon after, the Underwood family reached out so LSU to inform them, according to The Bengal Tiger’s Shea Dixon.
