It's funny that Skip was known for getting the most out of his teams when it mattered and it was about players picking each other up. Bianco is known for the exact opposite where his good and great teams fail spectacularly and any time he has an injury or a kid has a bad day, it's simply an excuse rather than a moment for someone else to step up. Yet here we are... thinking he can bring that kind of mentality back. fricking lunatics.

Skip still being around the program makes me think it’s gonna be Bianco

He’ll burn out pitchers arms in games that don’t matter and then won’t be able to win when it counts.

Bianco lost 10 regionals, 4 at home. 7-10 overall record
Bianco lost 6 Supers, 2 at home. 1-6 overall record

But... oNeOfUs

The only possible positive I can come up with is that he would maybe at least be able to stop the downward trend of the program as it stands. But beyond that, it would just be an incredibly lazy and uninspiring hire. He's had ample opportunity and resources to work with to take the next step with Ole Miss and never has.

Exactly.

He'd recruit at a high level (which we do already) and have us contending in all weekend series' in the SEC.

But he won't develop some magical coaching abilities at LSU that allows him to become a good post-season/championship level coach. It just won't happen.

In spite of all of those things, what makes him such a compelling candidate to you?
All the championships he will bring to LSU.

I get the feeling this is a troll, but Mainieri won more SEC tourney’s in a row than Bianco has won in 20 seasons.

Oh I didn’t really consider that. Kinda like all the trophies he won at Ole Miss.

people keep saying Ole Miss doesn’t have the resources but Ole Miss commits the 5th most amount of money to their baseball program in the country. such a shite take.

An LSU guy would never leave. He knows the program and has proven he can win in the SEC. Some of the other candidates don't have that going for them.

I won't melt if he is or isn't hired. There are 3-4 coaches that I think would be great at LSU and he is one of them. Melting over any candidate, other than Casey, is a terrible look.

He’s also proven that he can’t really compete with the top dogs of the SEC consistently

I think magician is just listing the the pro Bianco group’s talking points, not that he actually agrees with the hire

I was obviously being sarcastic, but are you admitting that he didn’t have a lot of success at Ole Miss while still wanting him to be our next head coach?

Vacherie- Great question! I think we know the answer- a big no!! I don't know if anyone looked it up, but is there history of ANY school contacting Bianco for a job since he has been at Ole Miss?
I mean, if he is selected, we have no choice but to accept him, but I just think we could have done better...
