Right. But you just said "linemen".

OK, I know being a smart arse is a requirement on the rant, but I never used the word "linemen". I responded to someone who referenced having Collins wear 18.

Now you're going to come back with, the quote you responded to said, "I'm pretty sure a lineman can wear 18 in college". Then I will say, "you're right, but he quoted a previous poster in regards to Collins". So, there, I just saved us 2 pages of discussion and confusion.

the fact of the matter is some folks are only here to talk football, and only football, year round.

Sorry.

Yeah, I know. Who do you think I was talking to? Hint: look at some of the other comments in this thread.

Correct. No special rules for Defensive linemen, but obviously Offensive linemen cannot get beyond the line of scrimmage on pass plays down field make the necessity for controlling player numbers. That's why a player with a OL number (50-79) that lines up as an eligible receiver must report as such before the play.

If we only talked about baseball during baseball season the board would be pretty dead.

Quit with the butthurt. If you don't like the thread, don't open or post in it.

It has to be a senior. Neighbors or Welter? Jordan Allen? Rivers?

Really wish LF would wear it, so we can retire PPs #7 and then one day retire LFs #18 and be done with all this

Maybe not the best, but who led the team in tackles last year?

Lamin Barrow, ya goomba.

quote:

All of you professional position analysts spent the entire year putting him on blast, but he was making tackles and fighting through it.

The system we run buts the MLB in position to make a ton of tackles. Since Chavis got here only 2 years has our leading tackler not been the MLB. 1 year Minter and Hatcher split time (if you combined them they would be #1) and 1 year was welter.

Furthermore, how often did he get dragged 5-7 years after contacts? Sure he made the tackle, but not the play.

Lets break tradition and give it to a FROSH. I say Ed Paris... #1- He will be a great DB #2- There is no telling how much recruiting work he did for us.

Or how often did he tap a player on his helmet when the play was actually over and get credited with an assist. Tackle ......
