If you are taking requests....I would LOVE to hear this song...it is very catchy and has a good beat and I think it would adapt well to the band and you would have fun playing it. It is a lost hit of the 1980's...

Get off your soap box. I shouldn't have to wait 3-4 hours to smoke if I don't want to. And for your info... most smokers would have difficulty waiting 3-4 hours to light up, especially at a event such as an LSU football game where emotions can skyrocket. I'm not proud of it. I wish I didn't depend on nicotine to get through my day. I wish quitting were easy. But the reality is that its not easy. And a lot of people smoke whether you like it or not. Why are you against us having a place to go smoke that's away from you? Why do you care if you don't have to see it or smell it?
Like I said, I don't mind walking to the opposite end of the stadium to ensure that everyone else will be completely free of my disgusting smoke. I don't want other people to have to suffer my smoke but they will as long as LSU keeps this idiotic policy. Plus, the smell of tobacco in the restrooms actually helps to cover the overwhelming hot, steamy smell of piss in most of the restrooms that's so strong you can almost taste it.

What I mean by that is put out a notice, or have the band director tell those dipshits to watch yall for the motions.
quote:

I only see them doing that for the songs similar to "Neck", like "All Of The Lights".

They have changed the waving motion of one to "neck"

I know zero about music. It isn't possible to listen to a song and then kinda figure out how to play it? There has to be sheet music and stuff?

Jet, can you guys play the chorus of Katy Perry's "Roar" after we score a touchdown and the touchdown chant is finished?

Just like it's your right to smoke it is LSU's right to make Tiger Stadium a smoke free environment. If you don't like it you're free to smoke at your house and watch it on tv.

1st..."staying late to beat the traffic" is the new "leaving early to beat the traffic". I find that by the time the game is over and everyone has left, I pretty much go to my car and drive straight home!

I said the same thing to my wife. Just turned to her during the mass exodus and said, "Well... might as well stay the whole game now, everyone's doing all the work for us."

last week were too loud...I think they made it a little better this week.

I agree. Sounded much better.

I LOVED the band halftime show. The alumni were great as usual and even though I am sure some will bitch about 50 year old music, I thought the Beatles songs were really good.

Always love the alumni pregame.

And it seemed like the process of entering the stadium was better this week without all the ridiculous delays.

Yep, I walked up 15 minutes before kickoff and there was no line, scanned my ticket, and climbed straight to my seats.

Of course it's their right to make it smoke free. It's also their right to fill half of the Jumbotron with ads, and play piped in music so loud that it literally hurts my ears. Just like it's your right to be a douchebag. And just like it's my right to smoke in the bathroom if I want because the worst that will happen is someone will ask/tell me to put it out and I go back to my seat.
But I'm asking Why? Since a significant number of LSU fans smoke, why can't we have a designated area (like most similar venues) that's far away from everyone else? If it were an indoor facility I would agree that no smoking should be allowed but this is outdoors. Why does it bother you if you don't have to see it or smell it? And why do I have to "take a look in the mirror" when I want a cigarette? I'm sure you have no vices or bad habbits so go ahead and keep judging everyone else, dick.

Blame the legislature

quote:

The “Louisiana Smoke Free Air Act” became law in the State of Louisiana on January 1, 2007. The statute La. R.S. 40:1300.252 specifically prohibits smoking in any public building, defined as a building owned or operated by the state or any other political subdivision of the state. All of LSU’s athletic facilities are considered public buildings under this statute. Additionally, a public place also covers sports arenas, educational facilities and any enclosed areas to which the public is invited. Electronic cigarettes create the appearance of smoking, which can be misinterpreted by others.

Wouldn't do any good. I'm looking for a solution.

Tiger Stadium isn't an "enclosed area" in my book. But I like the electronic cigarette idea. I might try that.
Btw, thanks for the logical answer and not the "go take a look in the mirror" holier-than-thow bullshite the other guy was throwing around.

Alright man. I'm being a dick. Sorry. But of all the shite to bitch about I don't feel like this one is a big deal. It's just 3 hours and it's a state law. This isn't an LSU specific thing.

I don't care about this either way, but the Superdome and NO Arena are both owned by the state and both provide designated smoking areas to fans in attendance.

Point taken. I can see how non-smokers don't see it as an issue. But this is the thread to bitch about things so that's why I brought it up.

All-in all, they did improve the sound issues and stadium entry issues from last week. And if they continue fixing issues and working on the problems I'll be satisfied and give up my "Smoking Area Crusade"

With LSU, I think it's more about being on a college campus and not wanting to promote smoking so they use the state law angle.
