I just noticed that Bama has a DB named "Ha Ha Clinton-Dix". I just thought that was funny.

Wait... I missed this. You're saying Jordan Jefferson was denied access to the field last weekend at the Kent St. game?
When the Auburn Football team disrupted TGBFTL during halftime show, I threw a water bottle that was about 1/4 full into the Auburn section below. I was young and dumb back then and I would probably never do something like that now. But at the time, it seemed like the right thing to do and nobody around me seemed to mind. In fact, I remember getting a few high fives and encouraging nods for doing it.

I don't care about this either way, but the Superdome and NO Arena are both owned by the state and both provide designated smoking areas to fans in attendance.

Yea, Y.A., I've brought this up before and I get various different excuses like "But Tiger Stadium is on a public school campus" or "It's the Mercedes-Benz Superdome" Even though it was the LA Superdome before and the law didn't apply. And I think it's still state owned anyway. My point is that it's not the legislature that is doing this, it's LSU.

But as long as people are sneeking in booz, I'm sneeking in my smoke breaks. IMO it's the same risk technically. Although I think others have a better chance of getting thrown out if they are caught with alcohol than me if I'm caught smoking. It's happened once or twice over the years and they've just told me to put it out and I go back to my seat
quote:

Alright man. I'm being a dick. Sorry. But of all the shite to bitch about I don't feel like this one is a big deal. It's just 3 hours and it's a state law. This isn't an LSU specific thing

Point taken. I can see how non-smokers don't see it as an issue. But this is the thread to bitch about things so that's why I brought it up.

All-in all, they did improve the sound issues and stadium entry issues from last week. And if they continue fixing issues and working on the problems I'll be satisfied and give up my "Smoking Area Crusade"

Blame the legislature

Wouldn't do any good. I'm looking for a solution.

Tiger Stadium isn't an "enclosed area" in my book. But I like the electronic cigarette idea. I might try that.
Btw, thanks for the logical answer and not the "go take a look in the mirror" holier-than-thow bullshite the other guy was throwing around.
quote:

Just like it's your right to smoke it is LSU's right to make Tiger Stadium a smoke free environment. If you don't like it you're free to smoke at your house and watch it on tv.

Of course it's their right to make it smoke free. It's also their right to fill half of the Jumbotron with ads, and play piped in music so loud that it literally hurts my ears. Just like it's your right to be a douchebag. And just like it's my right to smoke in the bathroom if I want because the worst that will happen is someone will ask/tell me to put it out and I go back to my seat.
But I'm asking Why? Since a significant number of LSU fans smoke, why can't we have a designated area (like most similar venues) that's far away from everyone else? If it were an indoor facility I would agree that no smoking should be allowed but this is outdoors. Why does it bother you if you don't have to see it or smell it? And why do I have to "take a look in the mirror" when I want a cigarette? I'm sure you have no vices or bad habbits so go ahead and keep judging everyone else, dick.

Wear an LSU poncho. It reduces the likelihood of being urinated on, while protecting you in the event you do get urinated on.

:bwahaha:

If you can't not have a cigarette for 3-4 hours then you need to take a long look in the mirror.

Get off your soap box. I shouldn't have to wait 3-4 hours to smoke if I don't want to. And for your info... most smokers would have difficulty waiting 3-4 hours to light up, especially at a event such as an LSU football game where emotions can skyrocket. I'm not proud of it. I wish I didn't depend on nicotine to get through my day. I wish quitting were easy. But the reality is that its not easy. And a lot of people smoke whether you like it or not. Why are you against us having a place to go smoke that's away from you? Why do you care if you don't have to see it or smell it?
Like I said, I don't mind walking to the opposite end of the stadium to ensure that everyone else will be completely free of my disgusting smoke. I don't want other people to have to suffer my smoke but they will as long as LSU keeps this idiotic policy. Plus, the smell of tobacco in the restrooms actually helps to cover the overwhelming hot, steamy smell of piss in most of the restrooms that's so strong you can almost taste it.

Only one big complaint - THE BIG SCOREBOARD WITH the little picture. I've made a point to try to notice other schools' jumbotrons on TV lately. Remarkably, NO OTHER SCHOOL seems to do what we do with our jumbotrons (i.e., devote 60% of it to static advertising). Why is that if it's so "necessary" for us?

Also, even if our "Jumbotron" were 100% ad-free it would still be much smaller than most other modern jumbotrons. LSU went cheap with this one. WE ARE LSU!!! Why does MS State have a screan 3 times the size of ours? And its not just big schools. I watched TCU and Texas Tech last week and the friggin Red Raiders have a screen twice as big as ours. Its embarrassing even without the ads. But the ads make so much worse and inadequate than it already is. The actual video playback isn't much bigger than the old SEZ scoreboard was last year.
quote:

I gotta good gripe...last few yrs I've been sitting in the NEZ (so I can misbehave w/ the kids)'cuz daughters had student tickets; babygirl graduated so we sat on the west side. Around 3rd quarter my nicotine fit drove me in search of a bathroom...(the NEZ has those huge restrooms w/ about 8 stalls on each end,& I'd slip into one and puff away)...every damn bathroom on the West side is TINY, w/ ONE stall, usually occupied, w/ a line. Went up and down the concourse, then tried going down to next level....same tiny one-stall restrooms.

I usually just smoke at the urinal. Rarely do I hear any shite about it either. It's ridiculous that LSU expects you to leave the stadium (and not come back in) if you want to smoke. I'm not askin to smoke in the stands. I'm not even asking to smoke in the concourses. I just want 1 designated area. Even if I have to walk all the way down to the bottom or all the way up to the top. I think its worse that the guy next to me is spitting tobacco juice all over the ground than me puffing smoke in the air.

We know that our offensive appears to be vastly improved over last year

I also like our young defensive
quote:

I think Hilliard just runs where he is supposed to while hill and blue allow the play to develop

IMO Blue is the one who least allows the play to develop. He gets the ball and immediately takes off full speed straight ahead and while it's usually good for a few yards, he never breaks long runs because he is ahead of his blockers and never makes a cut once he passes the los
Nick Marshall showed up at halftime of the Bourbon Bowl to open a can of whoopass but the Mud Dogs still lost.
quote:

“Their” is a possessive pronoun like “her” or “our” . Everything else is “there.

Unless they're using it as one would in saying "they are" ...
so we have:
- their (possessive)
- they're (they are)
- there (everything else)

Since we must have something to bitch about.....
Why have Les Miles, Stud, and Frank Wilson left this kid on the bench for the last 2 years?
