^^^ Saban tried to get cute and bring in a WR to throw a pass after their biggest play of the game for them. Reid picked it off. Bad Coaching. None of those FG's were gimmes, either. 2010, where's your excuse for Bama losing this one???
What happened on the drive after we picked it off? Seriously I forgot. But I'd be willing to bet that we didn't get points. And it doesn't matter, he put them in position to have a chance.
2010: we were better, obviously. Look at the records.

but it doesn't seem like he's doing his absolute best to bring change in those two departments
Hired a new oc went out and got what fans were calling the savior in Mett. Hes done everything imo to change it.
This offense is completely different than the jefferson offense.
Fans never thought wed have a qb throw for over 2500 yds. Well we just did.
Fans bitched about us getting bolden and swore up and down hed start over mett because he could run. Well that didnt happen either and by game 3 the fans were calling for bolden once they realized mett was a statue.

Well, that's sort of the point, H-Town. When we were facing a very formidable Alabama defensive line and could have benefitted from some misdirection passing, we ran it up the gut. When we were facing an overmatched, smaller Clemson d-line against which Hill was having success, we threw two times in a row. It's puzzling, to say the least
in other words, heads you win, tails i lose.
No matter what he calls it will be wrong unless it works. you get to judge knowing the results, he doesn't have that option when calling the play and it is not as if we had no success running the ball vs alabama.
Personally, I think we should have gone for it on 4th and 6 and passing is your best option there. Even a made FG does little good.

After the pick we had a 70+ yard punt because Saban had his injured WR, the same one he chose to throw the ball at the goal line back to receive the punt. He couldn't field it because of his injury. That's not bad Coaching though, right?

Bama wins 3 in 4 years and a Bama talk show speaks of Les Miles?

They had multiple shots to win that game. Saban put them in position and the kicker choked like three times. We got lucky in that one. We weren't the better team then either.
That's a MYTH that LSU was lucky. LSU was the better team that night. LSU made the plays. Bama didn't have a great kicker and they missed a 52-yarder in OT, a 50, 49 and 44-yarder. One of those was blocked and the only realistic shot they had was the 44-yarder (on the first drive). Even that was just a shot with their kicker.
LSU outrushed them by 50+ yards and you know that is the key to beating Bama. LSU stuffed the Bama ground attack as the game went on and held them to under 100 rushing for the game (their backs averaged just 3+ per carry).
Hell, Bama only outgained LSU by just over 50+ yards. There was less than a one-minute difference in possession time.
LSU reached the Bama red zone three times to Bama's one time at the LSU 17. LSU almost scored a TD before half, but had to kick a FG on 3rd down because of the time.
And Bama was getting driven back in OT - that's why they had to kick a prayer. They were lucky Ford stepped out because he had a free ride to the end zone. LSU earned that W!

Who is Finebaum and why do we care? Anybody who says someone's name then says nobody knows the name he just said sounds like a gump, so why should I care?
Posted on 1/8/13 at 3:49 pm to RollDatRoll
Because we're discussing an Alabama based radio host mentioning Les Miles the day after they win the title?
Please go back to your Hee Haw reruns.

I don't really know what that means, but okay...
Your team just won its 3rd title in 4 years and you're on an LSU site. I think that sums things up.
You are one step (probably closer to a half step) above the teabag guy...

- all we had to do was WIN that night and it would have significantly altered the trajectory of the two programs.
That game wouldn't change that LSU would be 10-3 this year and Bama would be winning the title again and all these arguments would still be here. That's the thing about the SEC and human nature in general. "What have you done for me lately?" People that hate Miles, would've still been complaining and saying the defense carried the team last year, our offense sucks etc. Some people will not be satisfied.
As for Finebaum, I've learned he is a Bama homer. Even though he tries to stay Bama/AU midline, he is always making comments that suggest his side is the crimson tide. Even when AU was good, you could tell. While I agree he speaks the truth alot of the time, he also has a tendency to take several jabs at teams that rival Bama (Tenn, AU, and over the past few years, LSU)

it's somewhat telling that bama just repeats as NC and the one thing Finebaum is most fired up about is Les Miles
its tellung u think Finbaum gives a shite about Miles other than to thank him for the NC this year

cant argue with this. Everyone crying about Bama favoritism by refs, SEC office, and Media sounds like 12 year old girls.

Actually he said quote
"of all the SEC coaches LSU's Les Miles was the biggest loser last night because he was one win away from beating Saban twice in a row now Saban has won 3 of 4.
The truth is LSU was lucky to win at Bama last year. they missed 4 field goals. It hate it but it's true.
