it's somewhat telling that bama just repeats as NC and the one thing Finebaum is most fired up about is Les Miles

I agree. It accentuates the golden opportunity that we botched because of stubbornness on offense.

We could have, and I'll even go further and say we should have been that team beating ND last night.

It tells me that the person he gets his talking points from still sees LSU as their biggest threat, so keep doing what you can to undermine them.

You've seen my posts before. You know I'm not a blind Miles hater.

Am I wrong?

I'll say this. I know for a fact that Les Miles outcoached Nick Saban for two straight games in 2010 and 2011. The regular season game in 2011 was a bad defeat for Saban. He kept trying impossible (for his kickers) field goals. He let the time run out at the end of regulation because he didn't know if Les Miles was going to run a fake punt. Ole Leslie got Nicky on those two.

However, I think Saban has more than paid him back with the last two games. Look no further than the two minute drive by Bama in Tiger Stadium, and then the herp derp that was the LSU two minute drive that followed.

So, what's the difference between the two, then.

It's OK to be honest...

not necessarily...i'm just trying to make it about 3 minutes without seeing a post shitting on Miles or LSU.

and IMO...JC Copeland and the defense is the reason we weren't playing Notre Dame. and i'm still not positive we could've beaten UGA in the SECCG

it would have been a 3rd time.

Saban is better, but he also gets second chances others don't.

I would never "shite" on LSU. I love everything about the school too much. In fact, I love it so much, I call out deficiencies when I see them because I want them to get better. I don't want Miles gone. I just want less predictability on offense and better QB development, but it doesn't seem like he's doing his absolute best to bring change in those two departments.

Can't blame the defense when the offense consistently ranks 90th or worse nationally. One first down. That's all we needed. And we get a fullback dive up the middle on a 10 man front.

Agreed.

Les Miles gets his fair share of pub. He is not forgotten.

Agreed, he is not and never will be forgotten. It's the why he is engraved in history that sucks. He will always be remembered for constantly shitting the bed in the ones that count. He went from the mad hatter to overly conservative when the game is on the line with absolutley no awareness of THE CLOCK.

when was this play?

The drive after the Spence Ware dive was a 3 and out.

The failed 3rd down attempt right before Bama won the game. Whoever it was...

ETA: Just re-watched. On the last drive before the missed field goal, Copeland dive up the middle on 1st and then two Hill runs.

Playing not to lose instead of to win. Odell was killing them up to that point. Belue couldn't find his jockstrap. Instead, we run right into 9 man fronts.

we attempt a FG on 4th and 6. This kind of proves its damned if you do damned if you don't. What is everyone bitching about after Clemson? That we threw on 2nd and 3rd, rather than run and make them burn timeouts. Which is exactly what we did there.

Well, that's sort of the point, H-Town. When we were facing a very formidable Alabama defensive line and could have benefitted from some misdirection passing, we ran it up the gut. When we were facing an overmatched, smaller Clemson d-line against which Hill was having success, we threw two times in a row. It's puzzling, to say the least.

Seems like a genius like Saban could have beaten a moron like Miles on his home turf, no?

If you're talking about the 2011 matchup you're wrong. They had multiple shots to win that game. Saban put them in position and the kicker choked like three times. We got lucky in that one. We weren't the better team then either. Let's face it, as long as les is our head coach, we'll never even get close to the NC.

And why are we handing the ball to Copeland? This is just another example of Les screwing up but getting lucky. Earlier in that drive, we handed the ball to Copeland and he fumbled the ball to Bama. We were saved only by our incompetence because we had a false start on the play.

Is handing the ball to Copeland really our best option? The answer is no, it never is. We should almost never hand the ball to Copeland if we are not inside the 2 yard line.

^^^ Saban tried to get cute and bring in a WR to throw a pass after their biggest play of the game for them. Reid picked it off. Bad Coaching. None of those FG's were gimmes, either.
2010, where's your excuse for Bama losing this one???

When Bama loses, its the players fault, when LSU loses, its Miles fault got it.
