If 2019 LSU doesn’t happen that 2019 Alabama team is getting the exact same discussions LSU does

Best coaching job of all time, sure. No way to say they were the best team ever with an asterisk year.

Y’all really think Indiana would beat 01 Miami??? I shouldn’t be shocked anymore by the stupidity of this board but you’ve outdone yourselves again.

Really hard to compare since they are nearly 20 years apart. The style of football changed a great deal in that period. Miami didn't play any teams ranked in the Top 10 in the regular season. Their only top 10 win was against Nebraska in the Rose Bowl and it wasn't a typical Cornhusker team.

their team was validated by numerous nfl pro bowlers. I’m surprised at the downvotes. Much be a bunch of 15 year olds on this board. They had nfl pro bowlers at literally every level of offense and defense except for Ken Dorsey who was still a very good college qb even tho he was a stick. SMH

Both of those guys played that year. Including the championship. They didn't get many carries because Portis and Andre Johnson were busy going buck wild.

It sucks that you can't have a rationale conversation when it comes to debates like this. Two things can't be true at once. It can't be that '19 LSU was a great team and '01 Miami was a great team as well. It has to be my team is the only great team to ever exist and every other team would melt if they stepped on the same field.

I'm not trying to hype up the damn Miami Hurricanes. I don't even like the canes. But I watched those early '00s teams and I hate to break up the party but they were unbelievable. As were the Reggie Bush USC, Tommy Frazier Nebraska, Vince Young Texas teams.

To be clear, '19 LSU is the best to ever do it but there have been teams that could play with them. The point is that this Indiana team is not one of those teams.

was he seen saying this or is this one of those fake ai quotes that sometimes include a voice over with sappy music in the background ? those are usually reserved for Caitlin Clarks teammate sophie talking about standing up for her though.

although I did see one that made up some kiffin quotes and saban quotes. one of them was quoting kiffin freaking out on finebaum about his team getting unfairly singled out by the refs during the bowl game that he didnt coach and was supposedly said in a press conference after the bowl game that didnt even exist

The 2019 Bama team had a better QB and more talent than the 2020 Bama team

Had their QB remained healthy, Bama was the second best team in 2019 by a lot.

2019 Bama offense was better but the 2020 defense was a lot better

2020 is a year that should be eliminated from discussion. That Bama defense was playing offenses that were in Spring Training form.

They wouldn’t beat 01 Miami hurricanes. That’s the only team that deserves to be In a debate with 2019 LSU.

The team that lucked out vs. Va. Tech when they missed a short a FG last play of the game in a 26-24 game? The team that led Boston College 11-7 with :20 left and needed a pick six in the endzone on the last play to secure vicotry?

the 60s, there were always around 150 Cuban Refugees attending LSU and we all knew each other. LSU had a government loan program for us ($500 per semester, maximum $5000). All 3 brothers were very good students, humble, well liked, and very intelligent. His maternal grandfather Alberto was a good friend at LSU. My first wife (a Louisiana girl from Shreveport) wrote me on Jan 1 and asked me if it was true that Alberto was F.M.'s grandfather. I had no idea but I looked it up and found an internet story that verified it.

Very cool story. When it comes to Louisiana, we are all way more connected than we realize at times.

Awesome. The 71 Nebraska team would’ve beaten both on consecutive Saturdays.

Neither one of those games ended like that. Ed Reed did make one of the best plays you'll see to secure victory against BC but it wasn't in the endzone. At least that one is sort of like your dramatic retelling. The Va Tech scenario you described isn't even close.

Most national champions have a bit of luck through a season. Most have close calls including this mighty Indiana team. They had close calls against Penn State, Iowa, Oregon, Ohio State, and Miami. If Carson Beck doesn't go full Carson Beck and throw the ball straight to a defender we're not having this conversation.
