FBall: List some of your favorite Tigers who weren't exactly BIG names and why

1. Harry Coleman
2. Deion Jones
3. Russel Shepard
4. Lavar Edwards
5. Craig Loston
6. JC Copeland
7. Terrance Toliver
8. Spencer Ware
9. Lamin Barrow
10. Jarret Lee
Harry Coleman - Played defense during some of LSU down years but really wreaked havoc. Made a lot of big time plays. Couldn't cover for shite but a hell of a hitter. Made an immediate impact in the NC-game vs OSU when Steltz went down. I think he even led LSU in tackles one season.
Deion Jones - Played special teams most of his career, played in the shadow of Kwon. Always made big plays on ST, and flourished when he finally got his shot at full time starter. No one thought he could fill Kwon's shoes but he exceeded everyone's expectations this past season.
Russel Shepard - Very underutilized talent that didn't fit the Les Miles system. Had to make a switch from QB to WR and never really fit the mold. But he was explosive with the ball in his hands and Still finished his career with some memorable runs.
Lavar Edwards - Played 3rd fiddle to Mingo and Montgomery his whole career but still finished with solid stats in limited role. Including 2 defensive tds.
Craig Loston - One of the lone defensive players that returned from the 2012 defense. Played most of his career hurt, in and out of the lineup. Not the greatest cover guy but great in the box and loved to lay the wood. Also finished his career with solid stats, tackling and interceptions.
JC Copeland - Gotta love a 290lb fullback. The KING of the Big Cat Drill. A great lead blocker over his tenure at LSU. Fun to watch the few times he got the ball too. Who could forget the 45 yard scamper against BAMA.
Terrance Toliver - Really felt sorry for this guy. The steady decline of Jordan Jefferson really hurt Toliver's career. After a great sophemore season his career kinda plateued. But he finished it off on a great note in his final game against A&M in the Cotton Bowl which was awesome.
Spencer Ware - A rare Ohio boy on LSU, ware was a bruiser. Fun watching him lower the shoulder and running over defenders. He ran angry. Had a fine sophomore season in 2011 but sharing the load with a lot of other backs like Blue, Hill, Hilliard, Magee hurt his overall workload.
Lamin Barrow - Overshadowed by his predecessor Minter and an upcoming superstar Kwon Alexander Barrow kinda got lost in the shuffle. But he STILL earned the right to wear the "sacred 18" and I think it was deserved. Great in space and good speed for a linebacker. Could play Mike, Will and Sam. Had nearly 200 total tackles his last two season at LSU.
Jarret Lee - Lee was put in a horrible position his Freshmen year. Forced into the fire after Ryan Perilloux was kicked out. The year after our National Championship too, with so many high expectations. Lee threw about 18 interceptions. I think nearly half got returned for TD's ahhaha. He was hated and booed. Any less of a man would have never come back from such a horrid start. He rode the pine the next two season just playing mop-up-duty. But his time came in 2011 with the suspension of JJ and he really put together a fine Senior season. He really earned the respect of the Tiger Nation and was very instrumental in our 2011 championship run.

My favorite unsung heroes are the ones that I know personally that have played for the Tigers... There's been a handful the past few years and I can honestly say that ALL of them love being at LSU

Mike Quintella
Brad Boyd
Thad Minaldi
Tommy Clapp
Dwayne Pierce
Not sure if any of these count, since LSU Football didn't start until 2000.

0ffensively, kendall Cleveland. faulk deservingly was the headliner for dinardo's team. but Cleveland was a hard nosed physical runner. he had good enough feet to elude some tacklers but was big enough that he could produce between the tackles. he led the team in touchdowns in '95.
defensivly, it's travis daniels. he had a solid nfl career, so some would say he's a big name. his contributions to lsu were overshadowed by corey Webster.
his technique was stellar. there was a reason Webster got a lot of interceptions. the guy on Daniels' side of the field was rarely open. he was very good at using the sideline as a second defender. he said in an interview that he played for the name on the helmet and not the name on the back of the jersey. the guy was a perfect example of a team player.

Ron Sancho LB Big hitter with a great nose for the ball, always in the right place at the right time
Steve Rehage FS Hit opposing receivers so hard he'd knock them out and himself out, too.
Albert Richardson MLB The immovable object, 3 year starter, set school record in career tackles
Jay Whitley C Undersized but savvy and scrappy, 2 time all SEC
Sammy Martin RB fastest burst and quickest lateral movement ever. A small balding speedster once denied entry to the Patriots locker room as an NFL rookie because the security guard couldn't believe he was on the team.

Think a good bit of us share that sentiment. He was a tough dude.
I always loved Claude Wroten and Kenny Mixon before him. Also Robert Toomer.

Reggie Robinson was one of my favorites. He seemed like he was always there to make big plays when needed and had great hands!

Jamie Bice - not a great natural athlete, but could be counted on to give great effort. He had a solid performance playing safety in the famous 1988 Earthquake game against Auburn.
