The crowd all at once made a noise like "whatthefrick-huh?" real loud. Brady James points to the then new screen where the replay clearly shows it's LSU ball. The old lady next to me cussed a blue streak when that ref signaled 1st down Bama. I thought those refs were going to be torn to pieces by a rabid crowd if they didn't reverse that call. I think they knew it too.

You've got to add the hard hat guys with the shakers on their heads that ran out to midfield during the long discussion by the refs and mooned the crowd. It was hilarious that they made it out there and nobody even noticed much until they mooned everyone because everyone was so fixated on what the refs were going to decide.

Saban even thanked "the streakers" on his radio show for really waking everyone up and taking the momentum back.

That 2001 Auburn game you mentioned is the only time I've ever seen a team get a 15-yard penalty BEFORE the game started (I think it was about 30 minutes before the game started). I don't know if the Auburn-LSU rivalry will ever be that heated again.

And 1997 against Florida was special in every way. It matched the feeling of winning a national championship - it was that exciting.

VT in 2007 defined LSU football and fans for me. It was a few months after the shooting. Before the game, VT fans were treated to the pure LSU hospitality that sometimes gets overshadowed by bad stories.

I thought the same at the time and had forgotten. Great tribute and respect for VT by Tiger fans and team.

I have not personally heard a louder game in all the intervening years. I was not at the Earthquake Game, I was living in Atlanta at the time, so I can't comment on that one.

I was a freshman and it was freakin loud... Eddie Fuller caught the second one... it was just unbelievable!!!!!

Seemed like the roar went on for hours.

My loudest experience.

I think the loudest game I have been to was 2003 Georgia. I was in the student section and there were a few times that I thought I wouldn't be able to hear after the game.

"It's probably the only time in my life I was intimidated by the crowd." - Former ALL American and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Ronnie Lott, on LSU's game against USC in 1979 at Tiger Stadium He also had these comments regarding the 1979 USC vs. LSU game in Tiger Stadium: "A lot of great players have played in that stadium, but I don't know if any team has walked into that stadium and dealt with what we went through. From the time we landed to the time we left, I don't know if a team has ever gone through that." "I haven't been in an event like that at any level of football. Out of all the games I've ever played in, I've never been in anything like that, and I am including my Super Bowls in that assessment."

That's gotta be about the best quote I've read/heard!

I've been to 2003 Georgia game, 2007 Florida game, among many other great games, but known come close to 1979 LSU vs USC. It was beyond explanation.

A good quote by Urban Meyer, on his favorite road venue: "I hate them all. I have a lot of respect for them, but LSU is the one you better bring your man card."

- "It makes a body tingle. These folks go berserk when the band marches on the field. A huge roar is heard for the invocation, for heaven's sake. They not only know the words to the national anthem, they sing them, loudly. And when the Tigers win the toss...there are tears of ecstasy."

1988 vs Miami. My Dad surprised me and took me to my first game. I don't think it has ever rained so hard. It was like they actually brought a hurricane with them. Even though we were destroyed, that was the night I fell in love with LSU football. There is nothing like that first experience of watching TGBFTL march down victory hill. And there's nothing like hearing the chants of "Tiger Bait" being vaulted at the opposing fans for the first time. I have been to a lot of games since, including every home game of the 2003 season, but still, nothing tops my first one.

Reading the quotes about the 2007 Florida game brings chills. That was the loudest I've been to. I was in the student section and when the while stadium seemed to pause for the USC-Stanford score, it was surreal. I've been to several of the games that these quotes are about, but nothing was like that. I literally could not distinguish my yelling from the people around me, it was just was too loud.

Tyrann Mathieu on his punt return vs. Arkansas in 2011:

quote:

As he crossed the goal line, Mathieu carried the emotions of 93,108 fans with him.“I could hear Tiger Stadium rocking in my cleats,” he said.

2008 Bama game, when we blocked their field goal to send it to overtime, the stadium was rocking. Then we lost in OT

Everything was great about that day, except the OT loss. I don't get to Tiger Stadium much, but I was there that day.

This has to be a joke, right ?

Can't get much more fail than that:
The type of play, the yardage, the year, and the circumstances/part of the game - all wrong..
